Hi I am based in lovely Ireland and want to start a roof cleaning business, 90% of roofs are slate and looking very grubby everywhere i go, black streaks, green moss etc. In Ireland all roof cleaners get a hoist (expensive) and they power wash the slates, Not good eh. I would love some advice. I want to offer a unique product, a good chemical that i can pressure spray on and then wash off soon afterwards. I dont want to use ladders and i am looking at telescopic wands, any thoughts on these?

Just finished a slate roof, concrete slate. I used the mixture that we all talk about on here. Hit it with a light pressure rinse. See post slate roof cleaning in Clive, Iowa for example.
The Flordia guys are the slate guys on here, not to say others don't clean them, but they have alot of slate in Flordia to my understanding.
Use the search and you'll find all you need to know.
I have done three slate roofs this year, one was really covered. I sprayed it on and left it, went back a month later and it is getting there! Will be spotless soon, remember no alcohol in the mix...{ no pun intended } it' can discolor slate for a period of time.
