We have just purchased a Fat Boy Pump and have it set up running off one 225 tank.  Am I limited to mixing in one tank or can this pump pull from two tanks? One just water and the other caustic?

Appreciate any help here.

Brandon

Well, if it is pulling, and ya try pulling from two tanks at once, here is what happens. One tank will prime, and the other will not. This is because once A Pump primes, there is no longer enough suction to prime the other tank in a PULL situation. Now, in a flooded suction arrangement, this can be different, because you are using gravity to force the 2 solutions together into the pump.

OK makes sense.  Now what if we were to ad a air diaphragm set up? Can that be used to pull from two separate tanks at once?  One more thing.....What do you recommend for the perfect mixture for a one tank setup mixture? Being Caustic, water and a thickening agent and the percentages.  This where I need the most advice. I am used to the "Old School" method.

Thanks,
Brandon

We used to run three tank set-ups a long time ago using the Myers pumps. One Mix, One water, One SH ...We would mix, but if the solution needed to be "hotter" we'd crack open the SH valve. Fair warning, it is extremely tough to gauge your mix % if you are mixing at the value. I have burnt some landscape up doing that!

I appreciate the advice.  I do not want to get into the re-landscaping business.

Not to say its a practice that can't be done......just gauge where you do it at with a measure of caution. You'll find there are some buildings, esp. commercial, that have minimal landscaping plans and are great candidates to practice this method on.

Good luck!
