here is some before and after spraying, I don't really think is Gloeocapsa Magma...

What do you guys think ?

it did have some G.M. on other sections and it came right off but, this was really hard to removed even after several rains it still shows a black shadow on the shingles where  the algae was!

I will post the after few rains picture tomorrow!

To me it does look like GM.  In some areas of the roof it can be more predominant and you may need several coatings, but just looking at the pics those streaks do look like GM in my opinion.

Sometimes it is not algae at all, but the granules on the shingle wore completly off and you are seeing the black backing of that shingle.

Just a thought.

Yes, it is hard to tell w/o being there, but granule loss is a very real thing!

However, looking at that roof, it looks real new. I would side with Chris on this one, just wait for a good rain.

Best of luck.

it looks like GM to me also, for it to be granule loss all in that area would be odd, unless some one tried removing this area with a PW.... shouold be brown in color after treating the effected area.... how fresh was your Sh???

the roof still shows a shadow, but it was the damage of the algae .

the reason why it did or it looks darker than the rest of the left side of the roof is because the left side was an addition , installed  not long ago!

I had the same problem today on a cleaning. Looks like a shadow in spots. I even double coated. My SH was strong. I get 15% from my supplier and they get fresh every couple days.

I am waiting for rain tomorrow and see what happens?

The funny part is where these shadows show up were not even the heavy stained areas!

Oh well....

I don't use TSP, but may need to consider using it. Are you saying TSP will cure that issue?
