Our conversation is just what I'm talking about. The Expo's being a great learning experience. Not only from the planned presentations and demos but the one on one conversations that take place.
Just the short time we chatted I have already modified my quoting process to make it less complex and customer friendly. I'm also better prepared for the next pool enclosure I clean.
I plan on attending the Charleston event so I will be looking forward to more conversations with you and others.
The Tampa convention was very informative and as a "newbe" I was like a sponge and soaking up all the information I could. Great speakers and Sponsors. Thanks to all
Had a great time!! I met alot of good folks and put some "ill conceieved" notions about some to rest. Some times meeting somone is all it takes.
For sure the one on one or small group conversations are what make these RT's worth it for me to go to. I love it!!
Larry, I never went to sleep until I got on the plan about 830. Then slept yesterday from 6pm till almost 10 today. I was FLAT WORE OUT from this weekend.
It's been a couple of days since the Expo ended and I'm still in shock. I was one of the the lucky ones who ended up with a key to open the Grand Prize, a HydroTek SS series hot water skid. My luck continued when I was the first one given an opportunity to open the lock. On my first attempt I had the key upside down and it wouldn't go in the key hole. I thought my key was not the right one, but before I gave up I flipped the key over and it slide into the opening. I turned the key and the lock just popped open. From that moment on I don't remember much.
The Expo was a great learning experience and an even better opportunity to meet people I only knew as a name on the Fourm.
There are many people to thank for the Expo experience. Let me start with Ron Musgraves. Without question I think Ron is the driving force behind the success of the Expo's. Ron was funny, serious, helpful and a down right good guy. Thanks Ron. I'll post my thanks to others on another thread I'll start with some pictures of the skid.
If you haven't made plans to attend the Charleston event, don't wait. You could be the next Grand Prize winner!!!!
Charles
That was a hoot. Nothing like coming to a free event and walking away with a $5,000.00 piece of equipment for your business!
THANK YOU NCE SPONSORS FOR THE 2 SKIDS THAT WERE GIVEN AWAY!!!!!!
The event was awesome. It was nice to meet Chris Tucker in person so he could see I wasn't some crazed lunatic serial killer. Hoping to have something ready for Charleston with the PWM,but we have a few hurdles to clear before that happens.

Thanks Jim, you are correct about getting a customer laughing, and being confident enough to do so. While most are kissing a customers azz backwards, offering to do more and "better" work, and beat anyones price, I am cracking jokes, telling them we are busy, and MIGHT be able to fit them in. I say words like "If we decide to accept your job" instead of "we will beat anyones price" !
Low ballers are like the girls in school who wore mattresses on their backs. Those low self esteem girls felt all they had to give a guy was the prize !
People who don't know HOW to sell feel all they have to offer is a low price.

AMEN!!!! Had a guy just yesterday ask me "Is $347 best you can do?" My reply with a huge smile on my face... "Well, $647 would definitely be better for me" He understood and I got the job.
