Yes guys, please welcome my good friend Larry Hinckley. His old Company, Delco Cleaning Systems had the Mobile Cleaning Industries very first, and only board. These guys are one of the pioneers of our business. I started out as a teacher of roof cleaning years ago on the old Delco Board. Larry is far too modest to blow his own horn, so I will do it for him. This is a small sample of what these people are all about!

Hi Larry, my name is Clyde Sampsel, and I met you a couple of times Once in Columbus Ohio, at a PWNA convention and I attended your Kitchen Exhaust cleaning school in Ft Worth, I had a good stay. Wecome to RCIA!
Thank each and everyone of you for the kind words and the warm welcome! Some of you I have worked with over the years others this will be our first time to meet. I will try to earn your confidence as time passes.
Air driven pumps aren't new to me I began working with them back in the 70s. I know a lot has changed over the years but the elastomers are pretty much the same and I can familiarize with the Brands and different models. I've had some success with Yamada and Flojet. I'm sure that you guys can steer me in the right direction. I'm a quick study.
Again thank you for the welcome and I am looking forward to getting to know you all.
Respectfully
Larry

Welcome Larry !!!!!!!!!!! I am glad to have you here. Many of us went to Air Diapraghm Pumps for roof cleaning because they seem to last the longest. I have been using Yamada Kynar AODD Pumps for years, with good results. As we are all painfully aware, no roof cleaning pump is forever, chlorine takes it's toll. But the Kynar yamada's have been rebuilt 5 times, some of them, over many years. Delevan has stolen the 12 volt roof cleaning market from FloJet and Shurflo. They make a 12 volt pump called a Delevan Fat Boy that no other 12 pump volt manufacturer I know of has an answer for. The Flo Jet is almost unknown in todays roof cleaning pump market, a shame, IMHO. I think it is a much better pump then the SMALL Delevans personally. Unfortunately, FloJet does not make a 12 volt pump that can equal the larger Delevan Fat Boy in Flow and PSI.
Many here are using the All Flow Air Diapraghm Pumps for roof cleaning. They make a unique 3/8 pump with a 5 year warranty made out of Kynar with either Teflon or Santropene balls and diapraghms.
For a veteran pump guy like you, it will be childs play to familiarize yourself with the roof cleaning pumps of today.
Larry very nice to have you around. You never know when we might need your help. It's always nice to talk with guys that have been around for awhile, look forward to chating with you sometime.
I'm working on that now. I am in my research mode. I've been reading up on the Delavan pumps. I'll go to work on the Yamada next.
Take Care
Ok Larry, please notice the Delevans have Viton Valves, great for chlorine, marginal for caustics! EDPM is a much better choice for a dual purpose pump. Personally, I think the FloJet 12 volt pump is a better pump then the small delevan. Read some of the Delevan threads here too Larry. Seems the pressure switches go bad, and some of the guys replace them. Our own Scott Davis from Confident Roof Cleaning out of Houston is real up on this modification. The FloJets don't seem to have this problem ? I know tons of Florida Roof Cleaners who have had, and used the little FloJet for years, cleaning roofs everyday. After the Roundtable is over, I want to talk with you. I have found a NEW pump for roof cleaning that will blow everyones mind as for simplicity and performance, and no, it is Not a Peristalic Hose Pump. You are gonna chit Larry when you see it. We must figure out a way to couple it to a Gas Motor, unless the guys want to use it with the electric motors it is designed for ? It can be pulley driven easily, but I see no reason it can not be modified to fit on the shaft of a Honda ? Air Diapraghm Pumps are wonderful, as far as long life goes, but are compromised on ultimate pressure capabilities. They can be had with plenty of flow, but pressure could be a lot better. The problem is the plastics can not stand the pressure! The pump I speak of is conservatively rated at 150 psi, but engineers have assured me it can go considerably higher with enough extra horsepower! Of course, we will not always run it up there! My roof cleaning guys up North Larry face the challenges of 40 foot high 3 story roofs that are 12/12 pitch! No place for a pump that is a pretender! My students lives are at stake! The extra 50 psi this pump generates will be a gift from the Gods to my guys. Plus, they will be able to crank in some additional pressure when needed for short periods of time. The pump is made out of THICK Metal so it will not explode. You are gonna laugh your ass off when I tell you what it is! I bet you too will say "how did I ever overlook these pumps'
I know you like a challenge Larry, and roof cleaning stuff is a challenge. But the challenge can be very rewarding. Roof cleaning is "what's happening" today in the pressure cleaning world. Once, it was a black art, only practiced by a few of us here in Florida. But the roof algae is spreading and hybridizing, getting immunity to the cold. Roofs are being cleaned all over the USA now. Almost every pressure cleaning person is adding roof cleaning to their services. Why ? Because It pays a fuk of a lot better then cleaning a driveway I would sure like to see Deluxe, Rascho, Delco, or whatever you guys call yourselves these days have a part in it ?
Just as this RCIA Board is helping the new guys with knowledge and search engine clout, you guys at Delco helped me once. Ok, maybe not with knowledge of roof cleaning, but with encouragement and friendship. I attribute a LOT my success in dominating the search engines for roof cleaning from my thousands of posts on the old Delco Board! Not to mention the friendships I made there with Beth, Scott Stone, Ron Musgraves, others, and yourself.
I will help you in any way I can, and I suggest all RCIA Members see what you guys offer.
From one Larry to another Larry, Glad to see you over here. Welcome to RCIA buddy.
Larry, this is THE Larry Hinckley I told you about from the old Delco Board. Larry was always around, to offer technical help to anyone who asked. Though it was a board operated by a seller of roof and pressure cleaning equipment, it was OK to bad mouth a piece of equipment they sold, and we often did. Larry took a hands off approach to running the board, and let us Men be Men. Sure, some of us guys had some fights on there, every now and then, but Larry would just delete the Posts. That kind of took the fight out of ya! Just like here on RCIA, many of the regulars there were a close knit bunch. We helped, and encouraged each other. These guys are the real deal Larry, did you see all the training stuff they offer ? Much of it is aimed more at the pressure cleaner, because roof cleaning was not what it is today when the training materials were produced. But a lot of it is still relevant today for anyone starting a cleaning business.
My brother who is in the KEC asked me to look around for a hot PW. I have tried my supplier, but, can get ahold of them. Looks like I may have to send him to Larry. It may cost more for shipping but, gotta do what you gotta do! Off to see Larry's site....I love shopping online!!!!
