I'm a total newbee, and have have read tons and benefited even more. I've not found a lot of info about the best process for caring for painted and stainless turbine spining vents. Can the Luv be sprayed over these and then just rinsed without doing damage? Same question about the vinyl siding areas between roof levels and dormers with vinyl siding? These often have a lot of algae themselves, so is it preferable to just let the LUV coat them and then rinse, thus cleaning the dormer siding as you clean the roof area next to it? We have lots of houses with algae coated dormers. Any suggestions? Matt
Strong "love" will eat through most oxidized painted surfaces fast. I once accidently stripped a ridge vent clean back to a bright shiny aluminum!
The solution strength that we use on the roof, should be just for the roof. Keep it off of the other surfaces the best you can.
Now a house wash solution can be used for the items you are talking about. Different people will have different opinions as to what goes into a house wash versus roof wash solution.
As far as vinyl siding goes... Wet, spray, let dwell 5 minutes or less and rinse. Works for me. I haven't seen any issues yet. But whenever possible I still do not spray strong "love" even on the vinyl.

Thanks for the reply Matthew your advice answered my question very nicely.it makes sense not to directly use the Love on the siding and painted surfaces. And I do have a vinyl siding mix that works well on such areas, I certainly don't want to create problems by using the "love "where I shouldn't.
To get the "love" along these areas-- dormers and turbines-- I guess I could just spray the "love" above them and let it run down along side to coat the roof edge without spraying directly into the siding. I have read of course that you should pre-wet and rinse any oversprayed "love" off siding surfaces and metal immediately and I plan on doing this for sure.
I'm not just trying to take to take the easy way out, but With my heart condition taking even a non fatal fall could be very serous, so my ultimate goal is not to climb on the roof itself to spray carefully along the edge of such areas, or is that what most of you experienced cleaners do? My hope is to do my application from my ladder or is that to unreasonable?
It depens on the metal the turbines are made of. Rinsing them or even prwetting them is ideal. The vinyl is going to be ok to hit with the love, we do it all the time, but never the vinyl that will drip off the roof onto plants. You can always spread overspray around the vinyl to avoid spotting with a soft truck brush and extension pole. Skylights should never be left to dry, we towel them off if possible or rinse them thoroughly like any other window. Be carefull of esposed nails, especially on metal ridge vents. The love will exspeediate there rusting and exentuate an existing leak. No spell check on my mobile:(
Need help guys. There are no Wholesale chlorine dealers close by- the closest one is 3 hours, so I had seen someone mentioned using "Quick Shock." That is easy to get at a good price, but I would like to know how much for every 100 gallons of water in conjunction with 'Hang Tite?"

Mike, You really need to spend some time doing your research. The "love" is what a lot of guys call the roof cleaning mix that they use. Read up in the chemical section and you will find what you need.
Try searching a little in your area for chemical suppliers. I spent 5 minutes and found a huge chemical supplier right in Hampton VA. They carry everything you would need. They even have their own You Tube video.
Guys here love to help out, but you really have to show that you are putting in an effort and not just looking for the easy way out.

Also if you are looking for chemicals, be sure to check out laundry suppliers. And also call your local water treatment plant. They use a lot of the same chemicals as we do.
People here will help you more if you help yourself and use the search button.
There is a list for terminology that a lot of us use, it is near the top on one of the forums.
Fill out your signatures so we know who you are and where you are located.
