Thanks for the reply Matthew your advice answered my question very nicely.it  makes sense not to directly use the Love on the siding and painted surfaces. And I do have a vinyl siding mix that works well on such areas, I certainly don't want to create problems by using the "love "where I shouldn't. 

To get the "love" along these areas-- dormers and turbines-- I guess I could just spray the "love" above them and let it run down along side to coat the roof edge without spraying directly into the siding. I have read of course that you should pre-wet and rinse any oversprayed "love" off siding surfaces and metal immediately and I plan on doing this for sure.

 I'm not just trying to take to take the easy way out, but With my heart condition taking even a non fatal fall could be very serous, so my ultimate goal is not to climb on the roof itself to spray carefully along the edge of such areas, or is that what most of you experienced cleaners do? My hope is to do my application from my ladder or is that to unreasonable?

thanks for the specifics about the vinyl siding areas.  that puts my mind at ease.  did my first roof yesterday.  I'll post my pictures as soon as it rains here.  thanks for the advice.  Matt

Also if you are looking for chemicals, be sure to check out laundry suppliers. And also call your local water treatment plant. They use a lot of the same chemicals as we do.
