Dan when it the next mission, this weekend? I'm going!
I think your idea is ridiculous. I'm not willing to turn roof cleaning into a game and sacrifice safety for the title of "Most Roofs Cleaned in Two Days." Haste in this business can have deadly results.
I think that pushing to increase speed is good as long as no safety is skipped. Pushing to be more organized, and someone is doing something all the time, is good. Improving SOP. In a related field, house washing, I was shown how to wash faster AND use less soap. I am more profitable now. Pushing the limit, speed being the most important, an accident could happen? I think challenge is healthy. In another field, window washing. There are competitions that are fun. Squegeeing window competitions. Whos the fastest. If competitions could be done with roof washing. That would be interesting! But hearing about dudes slipping on lines, and falling off roofs. Setting ladders, then they slip. I dunno?

Faster is not better and more, rarely is...
I have to agree with Dan here. You get an A for wanting to boost morale, but an F in design.
I'm wanting to build a business on reputation, but certainly not that one.

What the H are you thinking ? Your customer comes first. Don't you want referals. You splash and dash, what is the customer going to say "call this guy and he will run across your roof and kill everything in sight , but he is cheep". When you post how low you will go don't you know you are hurting every man that has helped you on this site. There are people on here that are doing it right, protecting property, working safe, puting food on the table. If you want to advertise that you hosed your customers down by not taking the time to do it right put an add in your local newa paper, don't put it on the web. You are hurting the people that have helped you. Don't be a kid(yes you can be a kid in bussiness at any age) and brag about the number of roves you cleaned in a day. That doesen't do anybody any good . Tell us and our customers how much you helped someone today.

Dan, I couldn't of said it better. We have guys on here that are splash and dash guys and are making us all look bad. It's crazy to see how many you can do in a day. What size homes do you do? Do you do front and backs. Do you offer a warranty? We take pride in our work. I have an idea lets see who can spell Challenge correctly first. Oh I win.

To all the Certified Roof Cleaners, who put their business out to the PUBLIC on this forum.
Cold hard facts, "use spell check", do not be in such a speed race to see how many roofs can be cleaned in a day. Should your company be able to accomplish with professionalism and safety 10-12 roofs in a day, Great, Wonderful and Cha-Ching cash in the bank.
As a business owner, your searching public does not see you, only your "footprint on the web", if you paid for a yellow page ad and the publisher misspelled a word, that is the very first thing the eye will see and be forever in print until the next year is printed. However, some folks do not throw out last year's phone book.
Your posts on this forum are there for all to see, stuck away in Google, Yahoo, Bing etc. all the other search engines, servers and data base hosts over the entire internet, can be pulled up in any search.
Again, the Cold hard facts, Spell Check does wonders for your business, you are a professional certified roof cleaner, don't be Bubba down the block. But you may never know Bubba, may have a PHD in English and reads this forum.
A close personal friend of more than 40 years, told me that he had his roof cleaned, by a young man who could spell, and he found him on this web site forum, chose him over others from the same area. He is from Tampa lives in Lutz and has written 2 books. Check him out "Billy Waugh - Hunting the Jackel".
What does all this have to do with Roof Cleaning, nothing and everything. You are a "Professional"?, be one in the written language as well as the spoken word.

I clean 100% of the roof because I charge for 100% of a roof. If I clean a partial roof then the next door lady can see that I don not do a "complete" job. She may not even know her neighbor but she knows that my company did not do the entire roof.....
I also DO NOT do partial roof cleanings because my warranty is for the entire roof. I tell the customer, would you go to a quick lube for an oil change and not get the oil filter replaced?
Spell check? You have a few options, a dictionary or type it out in a word format and click spell check.
I may spell wrong from time to time, but if I do.....tell me that I may correct it as soon as possible. I do not wish for a customer to search for a company, find me and see that I can not spell..I am not trying to down you, but if I found you on this forum, I would give the newbie a chance.
I may hire people to: mow my lawn....not the guy with magnets with incorrect spelling on his truck fix my plumbing...the guy who is going to take his time fix my ac...get it done right or work on my truck...CERTIFIED
These are some of the things that a customer may look for when choosing a roof cleaner.....Takes his time, does it right, can spell and is certified.
