Local company that installs roofs also does cleaning as well, on his website he has "biodegradeable" 100%........is there such a thing??
He also has the following:
The answer is clean it immediately! Here's why: As the algae and fungus grow on your roof, they eat away the base of the shingle and expand and contract with the outside temperature. This growth and movement loosens the granules, creating premature granule loss, dramatically shortening the life of your roof. A 25-year roof may not even last 15 years if nothing is done.
It is interesting to note that some manufacturers recommend that roofs actually be cleaned with bleach or chlorine –of course, they are in the business of selling shingles, therefore, the quicker your roof succumbs, the quicker they will be able to sell you a new roof.
So he's claiming he users a cleaner that is NOT sodium hypochlorite?
Because if he is, he's saying he's using a totally different product then what the ARMA recommends to clean roofs and is probably actually voiding warranties.

I think you nailed it, again he installs roofs, gutters, flashing etc......then the last is roof cleaning.......I might make a call to them and really see what they use....
Micah, I love the Tundra!!!!!
You might wonder why I use Toy2......I love Toyotas, I have a 07 Camry, and a 96 SR5 Tacoma 4x4, with 86K miles.....

You're KILLING me. A 96 with only 86k miles??
I bought mine new in 07 - and I have over 98k! I love my Tundra though.
Yes our rcia mixes are all biodegradable, he was telling te truth until ho got to bleach ruinig shingles. Of course bleach is a term that means anything that lightens color, so anything he uses is technicly bleach. Sunshine and water can be considered bleach lol.

If he's not using a sodium hypochlorite mixture, perhaps he's using a sodium hyroxide mixture?
That would be a lot more harmful - both to the enviroment and the roof!
Imagine a degreaser - on a petroleum based product. Talk bout roofs succumbing..
Theres an ahole down here that does the same thing. He lies to the public in print and says our process damages shingles, while he is using a pitchwitch and a pressure washer. I just dont get how people can believe that crap. I cant wait till I get the chance to publicly expose his lies...
But yes, sh is 100% biodegradeable
