okay I have done four roofs, not counting my dads. Okay two roofs no problem put sh on and (bam) looks great. on the other two they still have stains like burnt stains in the roof, no rain yet to wash the roof but I am a bit concerned. my mix is 15 gallons sh and 30 gallons water and 2 or 3 cups ammonyx lo and some iso, any thoughts would be helpfull
Could need a touch up. I still use cider. Thinking about changing, no need to but, thinkin bout trying something new. With cider there is an occasional touch up. Could it be rust stains?
no you dont want to pre rainse because your feeding the algae with good food(Water). you want it to feed it the bad stuff SH. its better if its dried out because it will soak up the chemical to the roots and thats a good thing.
bob, do they have a wood burner or gas burner that heats up the house? i did a roof the other day that had a gas burner that heats there house and the spots never came clean. it might look like algae but its really oil stains. i read alittle about what to try but i havent yet. my question is has anyone figured out the best way to get the oil off the roof? greg

WE have found that wetting a rooftop slightly, helps manage the cleaning a little better (only when its really hot outside.). We all know that the Shasta White shingles are the hardest to clean in that when finished often times after it dries there are brownish-blackish stains remaining. To combat this we will treat a roof and then keep it damp longer than the sun will allow (often times with just water) we also start off with a hotter mix on the shasta white
