If your SH is nice and Hot, for most roofs, yes 50/50 is too much. You would want to start with a 35/65 mix and strengthen as needed.

It makes a difference as to what type roof composition you are cleaning.  For asphalt roofs Scott is right.  50-50 is too much.  If you were cleanig tile roofs Iwould recommend startin at 50-50.

Let me clarify. If your SH is hot enough, you dont NEED 50/50. It will work great, just may be a waste of money. The stuff we get here isnt the hottest stuff, so I too run a 50/50 mix.

50/50 is to strong if you have fresh shc.  Most roofs we do we use 30%.  Why would you want to increase your cost if you don't have to.  Start at 30% and see what happens.  We have great sucess with 30%.  Also less worry with any run off.

Sounds like you're using 10% pool shock. You wont have any problems legally if thats what you're asking. However, that stuff is labled as 10% but is usually very very weak due to sitting in a bottle for weeks or months. The stuff most of use use is in 55gl drums and is made and drummed withing a week of us using it. Google search for chemical companies in your area. Look and see if theres a "Univar" near you.
