Hi guys,I am new to this site and cant belive i have found so much knowledge and valauble information from such experianced pros.My question is how much SH is to much.I can get pretty fresh 12.5% and am wondring if 50% SH to 50% H20 is way to strong for a 100 gallon mix. Thanks for any input
Thanks for the advice.I will only be cleaning asphalt shingle roofs, and to start for mainly previous customers.I am a painting and power washing contractor with a strong customer base and keep getting requests for roof cleaning.I have been doing it the hard way.Soft washing is new to me.And i appricciate the help.Is there anything i can buy from a big box store to mask the smell of the Sh?
RWpaint wrote:I will only be cleaning asphalt shingle roofs It makes a difference as to what type roof composition you are cleaning. For asphalt roofs Scott is right. 50-50 is too much. If you were cleanig tile roofs Iwould recommend startin at 50-50.
Let me clarify. If your SH is hot enough, you dont NEED 50/50. It will work great, just may be a waste of money. The stuff we get here isnt the hottest stuff, so I too run a 50/50 mix.
50/50 is to strong if you have fresh shc. Most roofs we do we use 30%. Why would you want to increase your cost if you don't have to. Start at 30% and see what happens. We have great sucess with 30%. Also less worry with any run off.
Thanks for the advice guys.Ill start with the 30% and step it up if i have to.One other concern my supplier will be a pool company and the jugs it comes in have some pretty scary warnings about using this prouduct in a manner incositant with its labling is an punishibile offense. Will i have any problems? Im in upstate Ny
Sounds like you're using 10% pool shock. You wont have any problems legally if thats what you're asking. However, that stuff is labled as 10% but is usually very very weak due to sitting in a bottle for weeks or months. The stuff most of use use is in 55gl drums and is made and drummed withing a week of us using it. Google search for chemical companies in your area. Look and see if theres a "Univar" near you.
