I know it's always being said in here, guess I just never put too much thought in it till I actually saw it.Go to your little hardware stores and get their 'roof cleaning' products and pay somebody $100 to clean your roof and YOU WILL be very dissapointed! My brother rents a place and tried to get his landlord to let me clean it for him(had bad stearks all over),but he didn't want to put that kind of money in it.My brother said 2wks later he had a guy come out with some BS from HomeDepot and cleaned their roof for $100.I told my brother,I said, although it looks good,I'll give it 3mths and streaks will al be back, because it don't kill the algae.I went to spend the wknd. with my brother to do some flea market selling and was shocked what I saw as I pulled upno.ALL the blackstreaks are already back!Looks as though it was never cleaned. That was a month and half ago when it was "cleaned".JUST BEWARE HOMEOWNERS'  MAKE SURE THEY"RE RCIA CERTIFIED before having your roof cleaned
btw and I'll shut up.....I am SOOOooooo glad I found this site and use the appropiate system to clean roofsbiggrin, because I would've done the same thing as that guy did to my brothers landlordcry

You get what you pay for. I'm a firm believer in that phrase. I remember growing up, my dad would buy the cheapest tools then gripe when they broke. When I was in the same boat and ready to buy tools, I purchased contractor quality top of the line. I still use those same tools. In the end, I was the one who spent less because I only purchased once and did it right instead of being cheap.

I have tried a lot of those cleaners you see in the stores or online and most are just a waste of money that I have tried or heard about.

It is like what they say, you cannot honestly re-package what a lot of us here use to clean roofs and charge a lot more for it so you have to have something different and that something different does not work good or keep the streaks away.

In a way though,...this type of thing can help qualified business's in the end. It shows that it's not an everyday homeowner job. There are always gonna be those who do it themselves,.and these will be some of your best customers down the road,...as they know now what it takes to do it right.

I've worked for several do-it-yourselfers,...and they have been my customers for years now,...because when you do a professional job,...it's usually recognized as such,....especially for those who have tried.
