Another thought............on the end of my inlet hose I have a wire mesh sreen that is sopposed to filter out any gunk from my tank, I have looked at that and it is free of debris. It does however come out of the chemical from time to time and I have to push the inlet hose down to get it back under the chemical.
I wonder if that has something to do with it?

Without out a doubt if your hose comes up out of the chemical....you will will loose your prime....it's sucking in air. If this is happening solve that issue before wasting your time resealing your fitting.
Brad, I have never had a problem with my Fatboy. It doesn't lose prime. Sometimes when my tank runs low it will start sucking just foam and won't shoot very far. I think you are sucking air some place. Maybe you should take the end of the pump apart and see if there is any sign of a problem. These pumps can be rebuilt I believe.
Something to consider about the wire mesh. Even if it's stainless, that thin wire mesh will degrade rapidly in the SH and you could end up sucking in the rusted pieces when it begins to fall apart. Keep the filter changed if you're going to use this type. A piece of PVC pipe as mentioned above will be better at staying submersed,...and you can also drill about a million little tiny holes and allow it to be your filter. I also seen on here somewhere that thin slices in place of drilling holes.
Brad, hurry up and get an all-Flo pump. You know why I got an all-flo pump? If Chris from Apple uses All-Flo pumps to clean a dozen or so roofs day in and day out thats the pump I want. I also seen the pumps mounted on his trucks too.
I personally think Newbies should save up their money and buy the right equipment from the beginning? I also think Lori should just stop selling those other pumps, but that's life. I don't own the best, top of the line trucks either, only because I can't afford them. LOL

I think Chris uses Yamada b/c that's what he's got experience with and set up with etc.

Go talk to Mallard and see what they use. they use Air-flo too
I agree Larry. That is my ultimate goal is for people to stop telling other people what they should and should not buy. Especially when it is not based on varifiable facts. All of the pumps work well, I've used most at some point. Bob and Lori are both great suppliers. 1/2" works just as well as 5/8" hose. Its all just preference on what you use.

People come here looking for advice Scott. If you ask one mechanic, they will say Snap On Tools, one will say Craftsmen, and one will say buy only SK Tools. People are partial to what they use. My Dad was a mechanic, and told me once he would personally kick my AZZ if he ever caught me with any tools, except Snap On ! I use Yamada Kynar 1/2 inch pumps, but plenty love the All Flow's, and some like the Delavan Fat Boy. Personally, I dont care for the Fat Boys because when you reduce nozzle size to control run off, etc, etc it cycles on and off. We own 6 of the 1/2 inch Kynar Yamada's, so we are pretty commited to them. Like ALL Pumps associated with roof cleaning, they fail too. Pumps will fail, trucks and trailers WILL rust out, driveshafts will get loose, and Love in your eyes will drop you to your knees like you have just been cold ****ed. Welcome to the world of the certified roof cleaner
I agree the love will drop a grown man two his knees. I used to crab fish in the pacific and when the buoys got infested with algae and kelp and who no's what else, we would fill up a garbage can with bleach and dip the buoys in the bleach then toss it back in the ocean. I mean bam they where cleen withing minutes. the down side we didn't use eye protection, or proper gloves. I have had bleach splash me in the eye and it buuurrrnnnns, the worst thing to happen was the small cut on my hand kept getting bleach in it and it burned a huge hole in my finger left a nasty scar. Remember this stuff can harm you so be safe when useing it.
Ok..I bought a Fatboy bandit from PressureTek last year (August). Worked great for about 8 jobs and then nothing would come out of the nozzles.
I did notice some rust when I first sprayed on jobs and thought nothing of it. Then again today, damn thing worked for half of the job and quit again. The pump sounds good but no suction at all. I have a titan hose reel and I figured that it might be the problem.
Do the manifolds break down that fast?
I bought a spare 5800 and hooked it up my inlet and outlet and hooked it up to the battery and did the rest of the job, at the very end of the job, it stopped working too. This time, no pump sound at all NOTHING.
Please keep in mind that both units were "prewired for me" by Bob at Pressuretek.
Do I need a new manifold or do you guys think it is something else. I cant figure this out at all.
It sounds to me like a priming issue. The manifold do not break down that fast. Weve been using ours for over year. And we do alot of roofs. And very big ones (6000+ sqft) 75% of the time.
I would says its a priming issue also but when this is the case, the pump will usually continue to run. It sounds to me like you have an electrical issue. But, if it is a priming issue then its because of a leak. Also, make sure that you just dont have a kink in your hose. Ive had what your describing happen to me, only to find out it was a kink in the hose.
Another thing, I dont think its fair to bash on Bob from pressuretek guys. The pumps hes selling are the same ones as everyone else. If the pumps are bad then its the manufacterer fault, not Bobs.

Jeff, great memory. Something like this filter? Great information on the stainless filter.

Different people respond differently to getting the chemical in their eyes. I once had a ground man who was actually a reformed outlaw biker! He was a giant of a Man, who worked as a bouncer at a very rough Tampa nightclub. I have personally witnessed him take on 2 men at once, and win. I am very careful about my run off, but did not see him one day, and he got "baptized" by the Apple Sauce. Apple sauce is NOT what you want to get baptized by. It dropped him to the ground, and he actually started crying "It Hurts" I literally jumped off the roof to his rescue, and after done with him, I saw a frog writhing in agony. I picked up a small slab of concrete, and put Frog out of it's misery.
