I was just quoted $2.97 per gallon plus a $50 core charge(45 of which I get back-5 they keep for cleaning) Is this a good price or should I look somewhere else?
I pay about 2.10 per gallon in Jersey, so thats the price you should be at. shop around. You should be able to get from Buckingham? something like that.
If there is a Univar close to you, tell them you know others getting the 53 gallon drums for $1.86 a gallon and you would like the same price....they'll honor it.
Just google Univar and your hometown and see what pops up.
unforchantly no that dose not included shipping walk. don is about an hour up the road for me and it is worth the ride. the sh is the freshest i have ever seen. and he has all the chemical i use for pressure washing in stock and excellent prices.
Paying $1.82 per gallon from univar. I have to buy two 53 gallon barrels at one time and they waive the $50 freight charge. Those prices are for pick up only.

I have NEVER heard of the $5 dollar cleaning fee?????????? What company is keeping five more dollars of your money? If you provide a certified drum, will they fill it? If you clean it yourself, will you get to keep your five dollars? Five bucks is five bucks and can buy a couple fittings or a nozzle and a fitting if you are in a pinch.
I don't feel it is right to charge you any more money beyond the money they are tying up for the deposit on the drum.
I just talked to don recently and he quoted me the same prices I am trying to get one of my semi drivers to stop in and pick some chems up for me but will end up having to pay them extra so might as well pay shipping also neither of them can pull hazmat so I can only get 2 drums at a time.
How do you transport the tote to your facility? Do they deliver for you? Also, once on your site, how do you transfer to truck or different container? Separate pump for SH transfer? Would be great to get that kinf of shipment if I knew how to handle it.
They deliver and I use my Fatboy pump to fill my solution tank then I fill with water to rinse the pump. I don't know if this is hurting my pump or possible shortening it's life. So far no problems. It doesn't take very long to transfer 15 gallons, then I switch right over to the water so it does get a good rinsing. I also rinse the pump after each job. You have to have a way to unload the tote at your place or they won't do it.
Most of you should be able to find a supplier that will deliver on a predetermined route for aroud $2 or less a gallon. I do have to pay a deposit as well, but it circulates. We plan to install a fill tank in our shop this year and our SH supplier will just come and fill it up.
