Yes Bill we will look at that. Chris and I addressed that in another post. We don't have a problem with non certified ordering them now but have enough respect for this forum and your fellow roof cleaners to not display until your certified. Thanks for the order Bill.

I missed the post were we said it would be ok to give these to non-certified people, but i strongly disagree with that. No institution with any credibility would ever do such a thing. That is a serious slap in the face to the rest of us. I will pay for your stickers if your broke, but don't sell us out?? How do you know they will ever be certified?? are we the psychic roof cleaners now?? How do you judge if someone is really going to finish their certification or not?? You just posted that guys were listing themselves on their websites with false credentials and now you want to facilitate them with the means to continue to do so??

I am now canceling my order with you since they are for anybody.

Bill, I'm with you 100%. I would hope that the certification would have some credibility attached to it. Otherwise, why try to get to that point? I'm new and learning, but I fully intend to EARN the right to have that sticker, just as I have earned other goals in life.

Bill, I don't know who you are reffering to when you say YOU, YOUR, My name is Doug Keifer and I am the owner of Toledo Roof Cleaning. I set this in motion because guys wanted to be able to display their certification. I am not selling anyone down the river and I am not broke and I did not post anything about guys saying they are certified on their websites. I did this for the members. I will gladly cancel your orders. I do agree with you on only certified members displaying them although I wanted to get enough orders to get us a decent price. Which we did. They have been ordered. They will be here next week. The people who are serious will order them and if they are not certified they will be. Nobody made any comments regarding this until now. You did and I responded to that days ago.

Sorry I am not here every day. I did not realize that if I turned my back we would just go ahh screw it give em a sticker. When I said you and your I meant the entire forum not you in particular. (Sorry I could have been more clear) So are you going to ignore the part of my post that says ' No institution with any credibility would ever do such a thing ' and ' how do you know they will be certified' Most members do not get certified, you can verify that in the members list.

Also I now have non certified roof cleaners being promoted as certified roof cleaners on that roof cleaners directory in my area, so once again not a personal attack but this kind of thing happens about every 3 months and it is getting old. In fact I called and recruited one of them and he has not been certified on either board. So It's my turn to state my objections for once instead of ignoring it and smoothing things over for everybody to do whatever they want.

Well said, I still don't know how you got certified. Was it the amount of post you submitted, if so I'm not sure you are certified. Just asking.

I believe I am the one you are referring to posting about non-certified people claiming to be on their web sites and blogs. I got ripped by several people for posting that, including you I believe. I am totally against fraudelent people posting stuff that is not true just to try and steal customers from the certified people. It says a lot about the character of these individuals. The phony asswipe that was posting before is still doing it, but I am about to launch a local campaign to bring his lies out in the open.
As far as the stickers, I am in full support of the idea. I re-sized the certified portion to make it more readable and have ordered some for my own use. If anyone is found using them that is NOT certified, I guess we will have to deal with it at that time.
Working as a team the real certified people can inflict serious damage on phonies and wreck their creditibilty in their home area.

Gary, Thanks for your comments. I don't Bills history with Chris and Dave but it sounds like there may be some underlying issues. I took bill wrong when he kept saying YOU and Your. He was referring to this forum I believe. I do agree with him about not selling them to Non certified members but we did talk about it and kinda agreed to trust everyone.. Like you said if people are claiming to be certified and are not they won't be around long anyway. Sorry Bill if I took it the wrong way. I guess i took it as a personnel attack. Doug

NP Doug apparently that's how most negative posts come off anyway. There has been a lot of misdirection in the certification process.

hey bill thanks for the 3 min certification. I think you are making some great pionts. I dont personally know what is going on behind the scenes but if you feel you were wronged then you have the right to voice your opinion. Just disregard the post on the arca site, not that it was bad but i read further into your posts and i have a good jist of what your tlking about. I did a search for new jersey in the directory and i didnt even come up. I made ajustments so maybe the results will change we will see.

I have been out of the loop for some time now and hope to get involved more.

Works for me, but I'm not the one that is going to have do the accounting work keeping track of everyone and when they get certified.

There seems to be a lot of dis-agreement over the certification prcess and how it is administered. Is this due to the fact that the rules are not clearly defined, nobody has the time at present to administer the proceedings, there is too much competition over which site is best, or just a lack of interest in the whole thing?

Let me propose this for consideration.
Clearly define the rules and regulations involved for certification. Make a list of required questions for certification testing, along with a varible list of questions that may also be asked to keep the procedure from becoming stale and/or comprised by past graduates.

Select a person/persons to perform the question portion who is willing and has the time required to perform the duties. Grant that person/persons the power to police applicants websites and blogs prior to certification to ensure no false claims are being made regarding "being certified" when in fact it has not occurred yet. Any findings of fraud or mis-representation will result in immediate cancellation of membership and possibly having the offending party's IP being blocked from this site.

This is really nothing new except for the last part. If certification is going to mean anything at all to this industry, we MUST police the parties that are at present making a mockery of the prersent procedures through their fraudulant lies and mis-representations on websites and blog posts. The time for action is now.

Should we ask for volunteers?
