I just think there should be a separation between the information and the chumming around. I'm not here to make friends, I just need the info. If I make friends great, but I shouldn't be making non-informative posts here. That's what facebook and myspace are for :)
Here's the thing,.... you and anyone else who is just starting out ,.......REALLY and I mean REALLY need to understand. We owe you nothing. The experienced roof cleaners here have very little to gain by helping the new guys interested in learning this trade,..I,...like the other experienced guys here can move on VERY easily without ever reading or writing another post.. Thats not to say, us experienced guys can't still learn something new,....but the point is,....we don't have to share anything. Feel fortunate that you have all this FREE information handed to you. Alot of guys here including myself,...started without the internet and definitely without this informative forum.
I personally am so interested in roof cleaning that I enjoy reading about others' experiences and their methods,....whether I learn anything new or not If you're truly interested in doing this you need to just kick back and read and enjoy these posts.

I for one don't mind helping others out and offering some pointers on equipment choices etc. Life is hard enough and sometimes we don't have the time to sit and search and search, but like the post above me, I enjoy learning something new and listening to others mistakes or something they may have encountered in their daily activity out in the field. I know what it was like getting started and so many questions were running through my tiny brain. I got my start back in 99 in the fence business. I installed ornamental fence systems and in 2005 I wanted a change and put together 2 restoration rigs and entered the wood restoration world and I love it. No, I didn't have any help like is offered today but I think thats why I know what I know today through trail and error and alot of money lol. But anyways, I would suggest a delavan pump ( 5 gpm @ 60 psi ) a marine battery and box to house, 150 ' of 1/2 hose, a nice wand with a quick connect on end to mix up your spray pattern and I started out with a 125 gallon roof mix tank, but that is a personal preference as far as tank is concerned. How many roofs you plan to do a day, etc. The delavan is a nice starter pump and will get the job done, for sure !! This would cost you approx: $ 400.00 bucks or you could buy yourself a rig already to rock and roll for roofs for over a thousand bucks. Its what you have alotted for this purchase is going to determine what route you take. I for one would start with the Delavan set-up as I mentioned if your on a budget or if your just testing the waters in the roof cleaning biz. keep your investment to a mininum until you know for sure you wanna rock out some roofs everyday. Hope this helps my friend !
