I was curious to how far our certifications go. Mostly to Chris, do you know if being a CERTIFIED roof cleaner would enable us to get dicounts on our insurance. I will be contacting my agent at the beginning of the week to see what he has to say or what info he has. If any knows the answer please let me know. Cheaper insurance rates are always better.

There is a lot more to getting discounts for being certified by the forum. For the certification to count towards something like that there has to be a lot more inline, such as having to follow a strict set of rules, regulations, training(OSHA and hands on), and stipulations to be considered a certified professional.

That quote was from Joseph Walters. It was $900 something. Close to $1000. That was in the summer.
Brian my insurance is up for renewal I will call Joe. I use to use them, but then I started cleaning kithen hoods and they wouldn't cover that. Joeseph had been around for a very long time.
Brian do you have their phone number if not I'm sure I can find it.
Thanks

LOL, I USED to sell cars, in a long past life. The credit unions had "deals' worked out for their members. These idiots came in and laid down, THINKING they were getting a "credit union deal"ROTFLMAO !!!! Little did these idiots know, we sold cars cheaper every day then the "credit union deal" There is NO substitute for shopping around, and exchanging information with each other where the REAL deal is! I could call an Insurance company, and tell them all the RCIA people will buy from them, in exchange for a special price ? But what if another company is cheaper ? Guys, shop around, make a game out of it to find THE lowest insurance prices, then strut your stuff on the forum by posting them.

That is a good theory, but poses several questions.
On the strict set of rules, Who polices the private business owner to make sure he is following someone elses rules for running HIS business? What are punishments for non-compliance?
Same thing for the regulations, Who's regulations?? Small business owners are already regulated way beyond their means and now some one else is going to apply more regulations??
OSHA training?? Have you ever worked for a company that was regulated and watched by OSHA? Trust me, you want to stay away from that problem, unless you have VERY deep pockets to pay all the fines that can be levied for very minor actions. You better have your vehicle and home workplace in perfect compliance to avoid fines and work stoppages. These people don't make exceptions! You will be better off if OSHA does not know you exist.
And then you will be expected to pay a monthly fee for all this "help" you are going to receive? Not in my business! Unless you are franchised, why put yourself through all that agony?
As Chris said, look around and find your best price and compare. Ask questions from others and make a business decision, YOUR business decision!
You will be happier in the long run knowing you are running YOUR business the way you want it to be run.
I shop for the best coverage, not the cheapest price. I don't like to be shoppped for my services either, so it's a karma thing. I feel that we are worth the price we charge, which is usually a lot more than the low-ballers and 'hoars'. Over 15 years I have found that like everything else, the best all around deal is somewhere in the middle or just a bit higher than the middle.

No, Gary the correct answer is "it probably is". Since you answered incorrectly, I am the winner. Lesson learned the hard way. Send the pump overnite air please.
