Hey Gary?Is it possible for you to show us a pic of you got your tank set up?I too,can get some of those type tanks for cheap.A guy called the other day and said he'd let 4 of them go for $175,but I know I get them cheaper than that.I'd just like to know how to get them to work for this type of business.BTW,they were used for holding dish detergent. Thanks
As long as you just use it for water it will be safe, from what I have been reading it is not a good idea to use a tank with a hole in the bottom.
Do you really need more than a 55 gallon drum to hold the LOVE? I think for my application thats all I need I have a 500 gallon leg tank for fresh water. I do alot of disinfecting for ag applications can anyone tell me what disinfect will do to LOVE? I thought about using my disinfect mix tank for my LOVE mix tank also

Very good point there! What would be the problem of getting just a 'plastic type' 55 gallon drum, putting your bulkhead in it and use that?I mean, what would be the down side? It's vented in the top, givin you have a screw on top,and no drain plug in the bottom.I'd love to see some feedback on this one! Thanks for bringing that up white fox

Any disinfectant and/or anti-bacterial agents don't mix very well with SH. If all the residue is cleaned out and neutralized, it shouldn't be a problem. However, I would dedicate a single tank just LOVE though.
I use two tote tanks on my truck. I've been very happy with them. The bad part is the plastic is very thin and i don't think it would stand up to an add on bulkhead. If you keep your SH in a separate tank and "gravity feed" it into your mix, you'll need to put your SH tank on a stand, since the totes are actually raised about 6" off their base, or keep so much SH in the tank that its always above the level of the love you are mixing.
I usually put 50 to 100 gallons of SH in one tank, bleed however much i need for a job into the 2nd tank and mix the love in there. Biggest problem for me is if I want to "heat up" my love by making it stronger and my mix tank is at a higher fluid level than my SH tank, then I have to break out the surflow and pump SH over. I am considering adding a separate 50 gallon SH tank mounted high so I can gravity feed extra love into the tank. I'd like ti integrate that stand with a ladder rack. I just need to dust off my welder.

Thanks for the pictures, very nice set up!
How long have you been using the tote with pure SH in it?
Instead of drilling a bulk head could you just drop a hose in the top?
I've been using this setup for 5 months now. I've been please with is, especially since I did not have a huge budget to start with.
I mix my surfactant on site. I do not use TSP, but I am going to try out Amonyx LO.
I Connect the water hose on the side with a coupler and quick connect and fill from there. I bleed over the needed SH, then I add the surfactant as the tank begins to fill with water. My biggest problem occurs if I make the mix too weak and I have to pump SH into the mix rather than bleed it over via gravity.
When I've need "mixing" I take out the trusty Dewalt and mortar paddle, but have not needed to do that lately. With the surfactant I use I've found the agitation of my sprayer creates enough foam for me.
Here's a look at my plumbing and tank set-up using totes. Sorry, my rig is a mess right now!

Looks good Ray. As long as you get the LOVE safely where it needs to go? Some of us use any means necessary to pay the bills. What difference does it make as long as we follow the Non-Pressure, roof cleaning procedures.
Here is my tank for cold water pressure unit.....and yes the guy across the road needs his roof cleaned....i thought i heard him whistle the other day but he had gas....tight a*%
