I often find that the less I am willing to come down in price, the more willing the customer is willing to pay!!!!

I know that sounds crazy, but I really think that is true.

i am new to this forum , I would like to start a roof cleaning business in my area. We do not have anyone in the area doing this. How do I get more info on the proper techniques? is there a manual?

im a tru believer in keep saying no till you here yes from the customer the beter you sell the less you have to say no if i really dig in with a customer selling my a$$ off they dont even ask price they usually just ask when can i do it

I can only imagine the restraint needed to NOT scream to the customer "I TOLD YOU!!!!". It's likely that the other roof cleaner will end up making you look like a hero. The important part for you would be to get into that neighborhood to showcase what YOU can do the right way to clean a roof.
I don't wish ill on anyone but, I can't help but feel a little resentment towar those customers and service providers for cutting corners. Like most guys on this board, I strive to be the BEST. I'm more interested in customer satisfaction than I am to turn another job. My efforts are worth my price.

Bad roof cleaners make us look bad especially when they kill vegetation. The customer will tell everyone not to clean their roof It will be a nightmare, especially when it didn't even come clean.

the good news for us is just because one angry customer tells people not to clean there roof most people still have to get it cleaned most subdivisions require the roofs to be cleaned or the home owner can be fined for most people its not a mater of if they should get it cleaned it a mater of who to hire for the job

that's good stuff; you said Wow it don't look like it was cleaned and continued to the next house. keep your head up and dont get discouraged.
