THANK YOU RCIA !

Hey guys,

I just pulled the plug on the 2009 season today; this was my first.  I started looking at this site back in June, and since then have been on this site every night.

In 2009, I started my business, set up my roof cleaning rig, set up wholesale pricing contracts with local companies to buy my SH, soap, and rubbing alcohol.  I have began marketing real hard, and plan to do even more beginning in February, not to mention completing a few jobs, all while working full time as a banker( I am a diabetic and need the full time health benefits)

After buying all of my equiptment and chemicals, my business actually made a few bucks this year, all of which could not have been done without the help of RCIA.  2010 should be a real winner, and cant wait to get started.  There is so much to learn, but the experience that I got this year, coupled with the expertise on this site, I look forward to learning everyday.

My wife thought I was nuts, but I am proving her wrong..............Thank you to everyone on this board, you are all true professionals.

I haven't made it as far as Brad since I just found RCIA. But I also appreciate all the knowledge that is shared so openly.

I once dated a Nurse, an RN.
She thought I was a lowly roof cleaner, until she worked the ground with me and saw me make over a thoudand dollars in one DAY.
She told me I made more in one day, then she does in a week, and she is an RN !!

Chris,

Ha Haaaa!!!! You know what, you are dead on the nail with that one. I did 3 jobs one Saturday, made $1,300.........cost of chemical, roughly $180 total. I dont know that much about investing, but it looks pretty good to me.

Seriously though, this site it great and I look forward to using the RCIA logo proudly.

Have a great night.

Hi Brad

I'm also responding to your PM you sent me. you mentioned that you cleaned the other day on a 35 degree day that is good news. please tell me how it went, what color was the roof, how dirty was it did it have moss? how hard was it to clean, and was there any other difficulties cleaning in the cold?

Brad my business name is H20 Powerwashing I live in NJ  my phone number is 609 971-6553 would you mind sharing with me how much your charging per roof and what are you doing, because I'm new at this too. If you don't want to I understand.

I read your post today you mentioned that you cleared well over 1100 per day divided by 3 jobs so I guess that would be over 400.00 per roof? If you feel like sharing I would like to know more about that.

Thanks Brad

Clyde

Hey Clyde,

No sweat on the PM thing. I average about $450-500 per roof, the ones that I have been getting are real small, mostly walkable ones. I have done 2 roofs under 35 degrees, with no problems. The Love works and I do have one more job set up for this year. I waited until afternoon to do them, so that the frost would burn off the shingles.

I am working with roof companies in the area and networking that way. I refer folks that call me to clean and it is obvious that they need a new roof, and the roofing companies refer the cleaning jobs to me. It has taken some time to build that trust, but it is coming.

Next year your business should only do better. Once you make it about three years then you'll be fulltime instead of banking.
