Hey Caleb,...the customer needs to be made aware that the only way to do a job like this is the safe way. If they want a clean roof they will have to pay for the use of a lift. Don't try and save them money at the risk of getting hurt. other wise their only choice may be to have you spray it and kill any growth and let time take care of it.

teep metal means alot of runoff,...and maybe even a return trip after the first few weeks,...to hit it again.

I think the point was that if the roof is REALLY steep, you should rent a lift. You dont need one on every metal roof job.

Cougar Paws or Korkers help immensely when working on a metal roof. I have also found that a $20 pair of tennis shoes with the foam rubber sole cushion makes the sole soft and it grips the metal roof very well. I got mine at wally world.

Ummm use a lift on that one. Have you ever slipped and hit your tailbone on a ridge? You will only do it once. Either pass or rent a lift. Some jobs are not worth it if you put yourself out of commission.

You will spend approx 200.00 a day for a lift. You will have to get it, use it, get it back. I would like to be able to clean metal but I can't see where it is worth all the trouble it is to do the job

Best way to clean metal roof is to use Truck Wash Supreme, 20/1 mixture foamed on and brush. Use chicken ladders if possible or lifts. when bidding these roofs you must charge more as it is a slow process.

You add $300 a day to the price for the lift, the lift cost is not quoted in the price, it is an add on if needed. The customer is paying for the lift, has nothing to do with the price you are charging to clean the roof. There are other safe ways to do it without a lift.
