So, you thread the garden gun into a 45 deg elbow, to the ball valve, to the 5/8 garden hose? Am I understanding that right?

Thanks fellas. This has been extremely helpful. I've been doing research all weekend! I'm going to try to reschedule this weeks roof cleaning and pull together a basic set up (thank Mike, that's a great overview!).

I was benchmarking my costs against the Fatboy at pressuretek for $1500 (+shipping +tank, etc), and can't pull that together quite yet. But, I couldn't visualize a more basic set up. So, I'll order a pump tomorrow, found 55 gal drums on craigslist for $25, and get hose, etc. Should be ready to roll through the Fall months by next week.

The next order of business will be certification!!

No problem Craig. Anyone getting into the roof cleaning business in my opinion should get one of these pumps below:

1) At the very least get the 12V Delavan 5850 5gpm pump

2) 12V Delavan FATBOY 7gpm pump

3) For the best possible roof cleaning rig use an Air Diaphragm Kynar pump powered by an air compressor

 

Go to Tractor Supply and buy a$69 to 89 sureflo or Flojet pump that looks good for you.
Get a 6$ plastic tool box and bolt it in the bottom. Buy a cheap motocyce battery. Buy all the connections you need there.
Cut hole on both  sides of box one for intake and one for out.I attach 100' garden hose to the out side flow of the pump and maybe about 8' for the intake side to stick in the bucket. Be sure to weight down the bottom o that hose with a heavy connection to weight it down so she willl sink to the bottom of your bucket.I then attach a Quick  coupler on the end of the delivery hose so I can attach my pressure washer gun while and then go to town on the houses, roof what ever.
