Florida law states that you need a hazmat endorsement on your license if you carry more that 119 gal of SH. Has anyone been pulled over recently on this subject.
That is the Federal limit. It is 119 gallons or 1000 pounds whichever you reach first. Some states can be lower than that if they so choose. That is why I chose to go with the 100 gallon tank. Enough to do at least 2 roofs. Most of my roofs have been within 15 miles of home so far. Or you can carry one drum and mix as you go.

I can tell you this. If you have an empty tank that is 119 gallons or more of SH or even SH residue in it you better have the outside of the tank labeled with the un number and you better have your HM endorsment on your license. You will be fined if not. 119 gallons is considered a bulk container in Florida and any bulk container containing a hazardous material or even an empty bulk container containing HM residue must be labeled with the un number. I drove a delivery truck for many years and have kept my HM endorsment up to date for this reason. That is the law anyways. I don't play with it because the fines are very high not to mention I have to drive by the scale house on my way home everyday and the DOT sits at my exit waiting on people jumping the scales. Hope this helps.

I would highly recommend a carrying tank less than 100 gallons if you don't want to get the Hazmat license. Most SH is 10lbs per gallon and the 1klb federal limit as Pat stated is a federal Limit! The tank must also have a label like the shipping label your distributors use as well as a hazard safety book WITHIN ARMS REACH of the driver. Your distributor has all this labeling as well as the MSDS that contains the hazard safety sheet, as they already deal with this themeselves. Ask them for a copy of these papers and what you need for your state on top of the Fed requirements.

Some states seem to be more strict in their enforcement of these HAZMAT requirements. Zillions of roof cleaners here in Florida with 500 gallon tanks.
i called D O T yesterday and spoke with an officer he explained to me that if you take a 300gallon tank with 200 gallons of water and 100 gallons of SH you now have 300 gallons of carrosive material . what they do is take the total mix and weight and test to see if it is what they consider carrosive by the way the test is at your expence

I think 911 was BS, an "excuse" to get into a stupid war, and allow more government control of our lives, and more loss of our freedoms.

ROFL LMAO Chris you are funny. Yes pizz has ammonia in it, VERY corrosive, just ask the DOT LOLOLOLOLOL. My motto and its always worked for me (could be because I am so innocent looking)..its a lot easier to ask for forgiveness than permission.
