Thanks again to everyone who has been very helpful to me. When I get up and running and finally knowledgeable, I will return the favors. I also donated yesterday, worth every penny. I am about to buy an all-flo 1/2" air pump since my luck with 12v batteries and corrosives has not been a good one. The whole concept of a gasoline air compressor and indestructible pump is appealing. I plan to use 5/8" hose. The CFM spec for the air driving that pump is 18-20, which will require a beast of a compressor. This assumes I want or can even use 17 GPM of fluid flow. I doubt I will ever use half of the 17 GPM the pump will produce if I had a compressor that big. I ask this: am I wasting money on the 1/2" all-flo with lots of capacity, when I could buy the 3/8"? Am I nuts to want a smaller compressor that maxes out at 12 CFM and won't allow the 1/2" pump to push all 17 GPM? Or do I want the bigger pump and know that 12 CFM on the compressor is fine since I'm using a wand jet with such a small orifice that would never allow such flow anyway? Note: I am a genetic relative of Tim "the toolman" Taylor and I would put a fuel-injected supercharger on that pump if they made one. Gilbo
After 2 months of buying my 1/2" Yamada kynar pump which calls for a max 12cfm , i finally hooked it up to a 6.5hp honda 13.1 cfm Rol-Air compressor, and like Dave W told me months ago when you go air you'll never go back,i do not even think about distance any more why did i wait 2 months ??? don't get me wrong i used a Delevan 5800 115volt off my 2400watt inverter for awhile and it was great never got hot only draws 1.5 amps will make a good back up the 3/8 All-Flo seems to be the way to go with that brand, the hose I use is 5/8 Kuritec
