I appologize for opening this can of worms. I was just curious as to what others do. I have only been asked once and this home was 4k+ square feet and had 250' of gutters he wanted cleaned and the back and sides were about 2.5 stories.

I'm not going to say what I charged but suffice it to be that it was not enough. That is my learning curve and my price to pay.

You all have made good points and I am considering them all. I don't want this to turn into a personal I'm better than you back and forth banter I would just like to see all views.

We could argue that service in the past does not compare to the service of today and many other things but that detracts from the intent. It could be argued that today is easier than say 1943 etc. Different jobs have different degrees of difficulty and functionality even in the military. There are non military jobs that have some of the same effect on the country such as safety and lifestyle. US Marshals, DEA and ATF are the first ones that come to mind.

I am proud to be a 1st generation AMERICAN and no it is not a hyphenated name. I am an AMERICAN of German descent. I am not any more or less proud than anyone else here and I see and understand all your points. I proudly display my love of country but that does not make me a better person. I am just passionate about it.

Big Tony to answer your question about what has happened to this country.... Too many sit on their back sides in November instead of getting out and excercising their right to vote and just follow like the well trained heeled and neutered dog.
