Brochure design

Here is a brochure I am working on to give to people whose roofs need cleaning.  I don't want to be a high-pressure salesman in a no-pressure roof cleaning business, but I thought if I (or really my wife and daughter) went around to houses and just rang the bell, Greeted the person, and said "I'd like to leave this with you, check out our website and call us if we can help you", or just leave it if no one is at home.  I also thought about getting them made into door knockers.

I just borrowed these photos (thanks to whomevers they are, I tried to find them again to thank you in person, but couldn't remember where they were).  I am just using them to design the brochure.  I have a house with light green siding that matches my color scheme I am going to clean myself and put those pics on before final printing.

Do I need to add, change, delete anything?

Steve,

The brochure is a great idea. Keep it basic like you have. Provide your website for them to go to and get more information.

The one thing I would consider, move your company name to the bottom of the brochure. My marketing experience tells me they don't care about your name until they know what you can do for them.

The pain - pleasure concept (You gotta hurt them before you can help them).

Good luck and let us know how it goes.

Steve,

Those are Accurate Pressure Washing Photos. You may ask Bill Booze if you may use them? This may give you a head start.

The brochure is simple and to the point and I like that. The idea that you noticed their roof and others may have too is a good play and easy, way to say subtley that they may have a roof concern they may need to address at some point.

Not to bad for a homemade first effort. Try it out, since you did it yourself it is cheap enough. I would make more than 500 of these or less  just to get your name out there.

Good Luck, Steve.

I would still talk to KBK Graphics, and Keith my just work with you, you never know?

Nice brochure Steve.  Will these be printed as door hangers?  If so I found a less expensive way to get door hangers out. I use plastic Door Hanger Bags.  The run about $10.00 per thousand and you don't need to worry about them getting wet.  I purchase mine  from Anchor Box.

Steve,

Good tactic... touching a emotion with "others may be too".

I pass out a lot of hangers for my window cleaning business and here is something you might want to consider...

Put a call to action on the hanger ie... schedule by X date and receive "this", whatever "this" is, it doesn't have to be something that costs you a lot of money or time. It does need to be something that the homeowner would value though.

If you print out a lot of hangers that does put pressure on you to get them out within at least two weeks of X date, but it gives them an incentive to call now. Not to say they wouldn't anyway, but lets face it, a lot of people are procrastinators. I've had many different batches of hangers printed over the last two years testing different messages and marketing tactics and I've found the incentive to "call now" to be very effective.

I was wanting to do door hangers, but wasn't sure how to go about it.  Thanks for the info.  I will check into these bags.

Thanks for the idea Dustin.  I may offer another service we do for half price.  Something to ponder.   That would give them incentive and give us more work too.

That is a smoking deal if that includes design time where you can really customize the hanger to how you want it. As stated, I've ordered a lot of hangers in the past and have paid quite a bit more than that. I will check out this website for future hangers.

Thanks KID
