You will still need to go thru Certification testing after the 100 posts and you have some things about roof cleaning that you will need to learn in addition to what you currently know.

You will gain that knowledge over time and by reading and spending time trying out the procedures outlined on the board and in the chemicals and equipment and knowledge sections of the board.

Rome wasn't built in a day.

I am keeping a CLOSE Eye on YOU cry

Your posts seem to be of an almost Spammy nature - full of self promotion and LITTLE else yawn

This is a place to learn and SHARE what we know with others.

NOT a "Race to 100 posts" no

Please - PLAY by the Rules - ok ?

Don't post, post, post. Learn, learn, learn. Your certification is NOT about 100 posts. It's about the knowledge of roof cleaning that you gain. Some folks may not achieve their certification until they post 10,000 times.

The RCIA certification does not come after 100 posts. 100 informative posts is the absolute minimum required before one can attempt their certification. And 100 posts will not make you smarter about roof cleaning. Do your due diligence and absorb every bit of roof cleaning knowledge that you possibly can. If you get to 100 posts and Tucker or David administers your test and you fail, then you look real silly. take your time.

Alright Kevin taking shots at me? I have over 100 posts and have yet to clean a roof. Setting up my trailer next week.

Just Kidding.

If 100 posts was all it took I would have made sure to get it in about a week. Instead I have learned alot here and I am still learning as I get ready to put my first cleaning rig together.

The biggest thing is getting feet in the street and I have been working really hard at that for the last two weeks. Getting the word out. Told people I would be ready in 2 weeks. Now I have to put my rig together or get egg in my face.

The other thing was working on my web site and blog and forum posts to get the name out there.

Heed the advice, it works. I have been testing with household bleach on an old shed with different mix % surficants and just seeing how much to spray before it runs.

Pat, you made my point for me. You ALREADY have 100 posts, but also realize that 100 posts doesn't make you certified. BTW sorry for my phone dying earlier! Anyone who thinks 100 posts makes them a knowledgable roof cleaner isn't being honest with themselves.

Hey Great White,

Two things to remember. No matter what rig set up you have. It is not the rig that makes the service. It is the person who is running the rig and doing the job that makes the rig.

Protect your bushes and plants and do it right the first time.

Having to go back twice for any of the above reasons is a pain in the  ________. Well you know what I mean.

The only reason I ever want to go back is to do more paid work.  Siding, wood fences, side walks and drive ways... or the neighbor next dorr who is now extreamly jealous because his roof looks bad and your clients roof looks great.

Dad alway taught me ... "Measure twice ! Cut once!"  Same in this industry... Do it right the first time around and don't kill nothing!

Good talking to you last week. Call me anytime!

I've been reading for 5 months now I post once in awhile just taking my time to learn the right way to clean roofs but I thought I was going very slow at it but I've already done about a dozen roof cleanings and more coming. Good things come to those with patience. But don't get me wrong I do want to be certified right now but I prefer to wait until I know I'm ready.

Congrats Stuart. It's good to have you here. Keep reading, studying, and PRACTICING. Find a friend's roof you can practice on. Find a church roof you can clean for free, etc. Just get comfortable.

For every post you submit you should be reading 100 posts. Tons of info. here. Maybe we need to set up training classes in multiple areas to be sure everyone is upholding the RCIA status. Just because you have a pump and hose does not make you a reputable roof cleaner. Do it right the first time! Quick question, can anyone use RCIA MEMBER in their advertising after paying membership fee ?

Roger asked:

"Quick question, can anyone use RCIA MEMBER in their advertising after paying membership fee ?"

Yes.

You may USE the RCIA membership LOGO but NOT the "CERTIFIED" LOGO

With the MEMBERSHIP LOGO:

The "membership logo" will allow you to have some credibility.

With the CERTIFIED version of the Roof Cleaning Institute Of America

With the addition of the "CERTIFIED" status on the LOGO , this badge of honor will earn you  some street cred and RESPECT.
