Here is a link to a bulletin by the Canadian Asphalt Shingle Manufacturers' Association CASMA.

http://www.casma.ca/en/bulletin_13.shtml

Another reference that says no pressure and no heavy scrubbing.

I LIKE it ... BUT ..... I think these bulletins can cheapen our services yawn

I no longer use them on our websites no

TOO many customers have said " WTF do you mean 600.00 for a little BLEACH " yawn

Then - one stopped payment on a check because we "didn't rinse his roof" like the bulletin SAID no

Good point. Maybe just excerpts from the bulletin then. Chlorine is ok and do not brush or pressure wash.

We NEVER say Bleach when asked what we use.
the word Chlorine is even worse.
We always say "Sodium Hypochlorite" when asked what we use.

Anyone and everyone knows the smell of bleach. Doesn't take much to give it away. I never try to hide it. But if the customer does ask what I'm using I say; "Roof Cleaner" Ha, Ha!!
A scalpel is a simple tool also, but it takes a special operator to not "butcher" the job,...the same goes for chlorine or bleach or sodium hypochlorite or whatever we decide to call it.

Most customers realize this in my experiences.

Good points Jeff biggrin

When customers claim to smell a LOT of bleach we tell them that bleach has a high odor threshold.
I remind them what happens if you spill a little bleach in the laundry room ?
