What about making the search option only for donating members? The amount of knowledge on this site is amazing and worth a donation to see it! Thanks to all of you! In fact you all have given me the courage to have a go at it and start up my own roof cleaning business. I am scared to death, but I got to start somewhere and I am sooo happy I found RCIA. I hope in time my mistakes (I am sure there will be many) will help others.
Thanks, Noll

THAT May be the answer ? Make em pay, keep the lowball hacks out who come and take take take, never contributing any knowledge but how to cut our throats.
I just started, and i dont want to be out of line cause in the two days i've been on here i have grown to respect you guys and girls! but, if the site were more descriptive on what it is and how it helps i dont think anyone would have a problem paying to use it! i for one cannot wait to become certified and pay for the unlimited support of these respected professionals!
Those who are serious about this line of work would be more than happy to pay something to become a member. After all this is a place of learning. Any other on-line classes are fee based.
I know I am a rookie but If my opinion counts I say make it a paying forum all together. It will create better topics and allow people to open up more.

I am finally on here, Whahooo. I have been a long time reader of these posts and have seen the industry progress and improve. I have been wanting to start my own roof cleaning business for years and I am finally about to take the plunge. I can not express the appreciation that I have for all of the professional people on here that contribute their time and expertise for the sake of improving the industry. I look forward to many years of posting my own experiences and hopefully one day I will have useful information to pass on to newbies like myself. I look forward to getting certified and displaying it proudly. I have been in the satellite industry for years and have seen countless dirty roofs, can't wait to clean em now.
I can understand a cost associated with this forum, as it does have very valuable and really is important. I would happily pay to be a member.
Thanks again for everyones input, I look forward to speaking with many of you.

I am registered, although being somewhat new to the forum i have not been able to add to the knowledge base. Most of the questions that i have has ben answered by just searching and reading. I hope to add something to the forum in future , but thanks so far for the info
I think its a great idea, protects all the valuable info that is passed along this forum daily. I don't think I has to be too much but enough that the everyday guy or hacks will no want to pull out the CC and join...
I have paid a lot of money to otheres who taught me nothing. THIS SITE IS BY FAR THE BEST SITE I HAVE EVER HAD THE PRIVILAGE TO BE ON. YOU CAN COUNT ME IN ON PAYING. GREAT SITE GUYS AND THANKS FOR THE INFO. IT IS TRULY (PRICELESS)
I have no problem with keeping the best info private and maybe even paying some to help with the fees associated with keeping the site up and running.
I would keep some of it public for our search engines helping us in many, many ways.
Not sure what you can keep public but what you can I would.
Thanks.

Peanut (M&R) or Mike...whatever you go by. I remember you calling me and telling me that I was your competition and youve been cleaning roofs since the early nineties....guess that wasnt true. M&R roofing right? Located inside the Beltway close to Pesadena?
It will hurt us SEO wise to close the Forum totally, BUT, here is what we could do ? I could create a paid members ONLY forum or sub forums on the RCIA Forum that will require membership to see ? I will need help to go through the threads, to move really top secret roof cleaning info there. But what is to stop paid members revealing our secrets on other forums, or in the un paid sections here ?
First time I've seen this thread! I like the idea. RCIA is up high in SEO. Dont want to hurt that. Glad its not up to me to make the decisions on how to do this effectivly. I hope ive given back as much as ive gained from here. Chris will do what is best. All the faith in ya bro! RCIA should be the most recognized out there and the information here should be kept for serious washers. Some hack could take knowledge from here and cause a bad accident. injuring himself or someone else. A fee should be charged. So that only serious contractors can belong.

We have closed the forum before, and our search engine rank dropped like a rock!
Really guys, most of this info is already out there on the Internet. Sure, not ALL of it. But any hack can simply call any decent roof cleaning equipment seller, and get set up.
What, shall we have Lori screen all potential buyers, to be sure they are not roof cleaning hacks ? The In the shade is a password protected roof cleaning forum, maybe we should post more secret stuff in there ? But what is to stop someone from being allowed in there, then posting our secrets on other forums under a different name ?
Welcome to the Information Age In case people haven't noticed, we are kicking some serious SEO azz lately. ALL it would take now is for people who are members here to place links Back to the RCIA Forum on their web pages and blogs! THAT will make us absolutely invincible. Even w/o many of these links in place, we are rising up through the rankings again. What does this mean ? It means Roof Cleaning WORK for all who post here. Something to think about ?
I'm a newbie and have spent the past two months just reading. It seems to me that any price you may charge will be well worth it!!!!!!!!! Just let me know how much and where to send the check.
