Great posts!!! I'm new at this. I spent days on the web searching roof cleaning after doing several roofs using Spray and Forget. I did much additional research on what other companies were doing, what exactly was on the roof, and trying to find out ways to get it off. I'm green but not dumb. I know what pressure is and not to use pressure on the roof. I have looked at the damage the bacteria does to the shingles. It was until I came to this site that I learned about the LOVE and other ways to this besides scrubbing, spray and forget/roof reviver/etc., pressure washing, etc.
I'm not out to waste your time because I value my time too (why I spend much of it on here)!!! But as a new guy, I am introduced to some terms that, even working with chemical engineers, I am unfamiliar with - but that is expected in any trade. I have seen SH written as sodium hydroxide and sodium hypochlorite. I believe it is the latter, but when I asked on this blog I received a long letter explaning how I should be reading. I am and am making progress and won't bother you on here if I didn't want to know. It seems the time may have been better served saying SH is sodium hypochlorite instead writing a ballad on why I am wasting other people's time. I asked the question, if someone didn't want to answer, don't. If you do, thank you so much.
It seems there are a lot of great guys on this site - thank you and it is appreciated. I can't offer as much at this point on the roof cleaning but am an MBA if I could offer any other personal advice.
I have seen that also and I usually look at the context of the thread to figure it is Sodium Hypochlorite. If you see the word degreaser in conjunction with SH then it is more than likely that they are talking about Sodium Hydroxide. I have also seen SH listed as SHC. It took me a while to figure this out.
Dave or Chris maybe someone with the knowledge could put together a short glossary of the common abreviations are for anyone that is new to read and maybe everyone could adopt the same abreviations in their posts.
It is just a matter of SH is shorter to type than Sodium Hypochlorite.
Keep reading Josh the light bulb will come on at some point. You might also want to go to your controls and fill out your signature.
