complete setup all you need is the tank for $370

I think since most homes around here are under 2k square feet I think the barrel idea will do just fine. @ barrels should do me as a starter and if 50 gallons would do one house then mixing only one barrel at a time with the surficant will cut down on waste not to mention that I will be slow to start and I don't want to mix too much. I may only do one house at a time.

From what I have read so far this could be startup costs.

Complete pumping setup. $370.00
Small 5x8 trailer $350.00 (on the high side, used would run about $200 and up.)
Deep cycle marine battery $100.00 (probably a little high)
Battery charger $0.00 (I have one already with a 40 amp quick charge and 200 amp boost.)
Misc wire/fittings/connectors $100.00
plastic barrels $50.00 (If you can not find them for free)

Cheap investment and good equipment. for $920 for the equipment I think is a good deal $970 if you have to buy used barrels.

Australia is a pretty big place so I'm sure that if you look hard enough you can find everything you need. If not then roof cleaning is not your nitch there, industrial cleaning supplies and equipment is where you need to be as a business stand point.

Buy the pump ONLY from pressuretek. TRUST ME ON THIS!

Read some more about hose, PVC ball valves, fittings, nozzles.

Will do that. Any specific place to look? I thought I saw something about a 3/8 or 1/4" hose bib for a nozzle.

I am retiring from Cable TV business, Work is slow. I have been subcontracting for iComcast and several other TV companies for past 17 years. Always got paid production, usually so much per foot. I have always been at the top of the food chain in that field, but need to move on, economy must be slow? Anyway, have looked at plenty other ideas to pay da bills, but have not found the right niche. My brother is a contractor and has been replacing a lot of roofs and he told me weeks ago to start a roof cleaning business. He said that half the roofs he is replacing are fine just need cleaned. I have never thought of that until he mentioned it to me.

Anyway, I start researching and like many others, I'm sure, found plenty of green and biodegradable products on the internet. I was extremely sceptical but thought if I was gonna do this I was going to buy the ones that looked promising to try and see what product worked best. Was not gonna start cleaning if the product didn't work. FORTUNATELY, for me I found this site before I bucked up on several useless s***. I found the LOVE right here.

Good friend of mine owns pest control business with around 10 pumping rigs that he said he will give me on of his older ones. It has 100 gallon tank with a hypro pump(which I will have to uprade.)Nice guy!!!
My other brother is in contractor sales which he said he constantly gets asked about dirty roofs. Awesome I already have salesman in place.
Golf with a guy who owns hydraulic company which he will help me set up rig per RCIA specs
I have the money and resources to get started and started right

Delemma: SH price here is $5-6 gallon

Not sure this would be good for cost effectiveness
May need Obama stimulus package

Yea, our prices here are always more than anywhere it seems. Univars prices have gone up. You may want to try Culligan, I know they used to sell it. The Hypros are good little pumps, and will make you money. Keep them rinsed out. They should last you about a month,(depends on the hours of use obviously) and then just pitch it and get a new one.� Cost of doing business. I still have a roller pump rigged into my system, great back-up and a high shooter.
Our area is just full of roofs that are in need of cleaning. I rarely get into the Altoona area, so that should be relatively untapped. I've been in Bellwood , Greenwood� and Hollidaysburg a couple of times. Always surprised B and B Pressure Washing wasn't doing roofs over there.
I've been working the last 8 years in promoting the need and the availability of roof cleaning, will be nice to have someone else taking up some of the slack in advertising it and getting it legitimized. Good Luck, maybe I will catch up with you over the Summer and we'll have lunch or something.

Be careful with the used tank the former chemical may not be compatible with SH and can cause explosions. No spark needed..

I like this roof cleaning rig for the newbie thing its great info. I think im making it too hard on myself with my sprayers. I use my paint sprayer to spray liquified zinc onto the roofs but the paint sprayer doesnt like it. Will this thing work for liquified zinc? Will there always be this starup equipment for newbies link? Hope so. I could sell my damn paint sprayer and buy the entire setup at that price.

Keep in mind though that its a diferent ball game here in the northwest where moss is the main reason for roof cleaning. Im hopin that when i try out the equipment and the new mix of chemical it makes a big diference. And I will try it.

I cant wait to be a roof cleaning Jedi! I have all the equipment for the craziest jobs but that doesnt make me a Jedi. I want as much knowledge as possible. Its a great field for the average thrill seeker. I cant say that I could do it forever, its a young mans job out here in the NW.

OK! You say Tomato I say Tomoto! I have been using weak old Sur Flow Pumps for 8 and 1/2 years now... Geee they really suck.... Think I'll use those week Old Sur Flow Pumps another 8 years... biggrin

I am listening bro, those are the same ladders I use. I have a 36' and only use it like 1-2x a year, and if I put a little thought into probably would not use it at all. Those Sur flows will get er dun!! I believe thats even what Mallard uses!!
