When Pulling that kind of load consider a combo ball & pintle type tow hitch and a Inertia Activated Electric Trailer Brake Controller. I use a brake controller made by Odyssey and have been pleased.

Is there any one out there looking to upgrade and perhaps be interesded in selling there set up rigs minus the trailer/ i am very interested in start-up and have been for a long time but just cannot get the jist of the medical terminolgy in pumps, making of the wands ,fittings etc.. ( I am a welder /sheet metal fab by trade and have a mobile welding businees on the side with little sucsess in this. Everyone wants it done for nothing) There is alot of nasty roofs around here and no one doing roofs commited to this low pressure application/rinse technique IF I could see one of these rigs in aciton it would be a little clearer on what I needed to purchase and how to assemble the semi-pro rig. I would like to look somewhat legidimate other than a sprayer and a hose? Also am cautious on killing plants and grass. I would really like to invest in this businees and learn the know how and trade but dont know where to start? Been looking on line forever but am at a stand still on getting started .Please help. Hi and welcome Robert,
You have come to the right place and all that searching you have down is about to pay off. Just search around this board using the search feature at the top and all your questions are already answered here. I am sure there are a few people here that will build you a rig, but you can definitly do it yourself. Just read alot of what this board has already offered then start asking the fine tuning questions BEFORE you start your build. That way the pros here can catch any mistakes you may make.

Please search for and read our rules of conduct and mission statement. Please keep your posts relevant to roof cleaning and respectfull, even if you get an answer you do not like. Everyone here is respectfull and trying to help each other. Good luck and enjoy your time here!

Thanks for the curtious reply and and info guys ! I have been searching day and night but still cannot figure what I need. So many different suggeston. I was looking into a fat boy pump?. What about the wands?? Chem application and rinse? Is it he same wand you apply and rinse with also and just use different tips or what ? Does the low pressure rinse come from the 12v pump? If so is this enough to get the stains off. I bought one of those big ole 250 gal tanks with the basket around it for rinse but still need to get a tank for the chemiclas . Do you use the same pump for the Chem application and rinse just swap the siphon hose from tank to tank? I bought a CD on-line on roof cleaning ( $ 39.00) and it was a total sham and waste of money. I thought maybe it would have some instuctional video and equipment set up instuctions but it was a complete sham. Also bought a water sweeper broom and paid 180.00 bucks and I could have made it for about 20.00 bucks. It has about a 36" swath, Just hooks up to a water hose but I dont think it produces enought pressure without a in -line booster pump. Thats another 130.00. I am just trying to get some insight on exactly what is needed on a rig set-up and assembly so I'll just quite throwing my monies away and start makin a little. I was going to e-mail Mr. Bob at pressuretek and see if he could recommend exactly what is needed sense he deals with roof cleaners and there needs but I am a little cautious/curious and would perfer some insight from you knowledgable proffessionals other than search ? I gotta see it and touch it and then maybe it would be clearer to me. I feel like a complete idiot but at least I admit it. Any help would be greatly aprreciated. Thank Guys

I made up a few spray guns tonight with 0050 and 1550 tips. That fatboy will launch some "love", let me tell ya. Before tonight I was using a few other things for tips and a spray gun. The gun would get the distance, but not the flow. The 0050 tip along with the fatboy will easily get 30+ foot. I was impressed. Using the 1550 tip I felt like I was using a fire hose. It was awesome. lol

Placed a pretty big order yesterday with Lori blankstare

for most of the equipment I need. Bought a fatboy and a 5850 for back up. 200' of 5/8 kuritec for the 5850 and 200' of 3/4 kuritec for the fat boy. A regulator and about 6 different tips and some o-rings and qwik connects (stainless). Waiting for delivery (tomorrow) so I can get started in my new career. roof cleaning

What is the regulator for?

I do not know what version of the delavan pumps he bought ?
I do know they are availiable with, or w/o the pressure switches.
Some have had problems with the pressure switches/relays I understand ?
I do not use the 12 volt pumps, just repeating what I have read/been told.
Mike Sullivan is the resident Delavan expert here, not me!

Lori's father Rex is a very in the know guy about pumps.
I think he feels that a pressure regulator is a good idea.
This requires a bypass back into the tank.
Not a bad thing, because it kinda agitates the mix.

Perhaps Lori can explain it better, or her father Rex ?

The 5850 occasionally has problems with the pressure switch, but can usually be corrected. The Fat Boy has a relay that seems to go out spontaneously sometimes. I think Mike Sullivan can tell you about the relys better than I, but it may in your best interest to replace the relay BEFORE you start cleaning roofs.
