I need to hammer down on getting the word out. So can you give me any advice on a flyer setup. I would like to go with KBK Graphix. I need some ideas that would be eye catching. If you have just a roof cleaning flyer can you please post it for ideas. I have a small janitorial business but I would like a flyer just informing the public about roof cleaning. I was thinking about the name: ALGAE-FREE ROOF CLEANING . Anytime you see the word free it catches your attention whats your take on that idea. What about taking the A in algae & making it into a roof. Everyone on this forum has been the greatest. Thanks Kipp

I like your A Idea you can see something similar in my logo. I like a flyer that in bold type says DOES YOUR ROOF LOOK LIKE THIS, or ARE ALGEA MOLD & FUNGUS INFESTING YOUR ROOF? followd by some pictures before and after with the phone # pull tabs on the bottom. These are great to hang in grocery stores, gas stations post office etc.

Not trying to be picky but wouldn't this be better in the marketing section?

Before and Afters are the most important part of a flyer. I have had calls from flyers that didn't read a single bullet point, just the pics.
Sit down and create several types of flyers and keep track of what gets you the most response.

If you can get color copies at a decent price,..do it. It makes a big difference in before and afters. I get copies at .38 cents a copy. But worth it to me. At least use a colored paper. I like the fluorescent colors if I were doing only B/W.

Hey Mike and good morning,..I get them from a local place. They're not nationwide. They're that price when you buy a certain amount, like at least 100,..I think.

Are you serious? Only 100 copies?

I would think to get that cheap of a price you would have to get at least 5000 copies.

Did you mean 38 cents a copy? or .38 cents?

Cheapest I have found anywhere is 5 cents/copy (5000 print run) for a good quality, full color, thick stock paper

Valpak offers cheap quality, thin stock, mass quantity (10,000 print run) full color copies for 2 cents/copy.

Not sure what you mean by "38 cents a cop or .38 cents?"
But yea, it is a good deal. Thats why I get them there when I make flyers.

38 cents is one quarter, one dime, three pennies.

.38 cents is a fraction of a penny.

$.38 = 38 cents

You guys are paying waaayyy too much for color copies. .38 is what I pay for full color brochures. Color copies are around .16 per copy from one place and about .10 from another.

Correct me if I am wrong, but 5000 copies at $200 is 4 cents per copy. I have a color laser printer and couldn't even come close to that doing it myself. I will definitely be checking them out very soon. Thanks for the info!!!

I've found that double sided postcards work great for direct mailing. They are cheap, great for before and afters, easy to view for customers it's right in front of their face, and plenty of room for photo on one side and info on the other.

A flyer is a single page leaflet advertising a nightclub, event, service, or other activity. Flyers are typically used by individuals or small business and are a form of small scale, community communication.

Flyers are handed out on the street, posted on bulletin boards, or given away at events. Bulletin boards are found on college campuses, in cafes, community meeting houses, laundromats and small markets.

Flyers, along with postcards, leaflets and small posters, are vital and free forms of communication for people who want to engage the public but do not have the money or desire to take out classified advertising in a local newspaper. Their widespread use intensified with the spread of desktop publishing systems. Some flyers are humorous, irreverent or absurd.

The Craigslist website is a web-based system that mirrors the sort of community communication that occurs via flyering and bulletin boards....

**********

Personal experience, when I started my business I had made 5000 "post cards" with a cost of $165 USD. - taht is only 0.0333 cents per unit - they look very professional and has been my main mean of advertising fr my starting company - advertising is very important aspect of any growing business - your self working and world of mouth from happy customers are foremost important and absolutely free.
