My season is just ending! 95% of all snowbirds, which make up 1/4 of my local population of homeowners are gone as of yesterday! Now come the long drawn out summer, where most Floridians make and spend less money! Ouch for me!!! Of course, now my lawn and landscape business picks up, as things begin to grow again! So, it "ALMOST" balances out? FDifference is, instead of a roof for $350.00 in 2 hours, I mow 10 lawns for $30.00 in 4 hours for $300.00 Or do 20 landscape [actually just weeding ] jobs for $25 each and make $250.00 I WANT MY ROOF WORK BACK IN FULL SWING!!!! Chuck, we clean roofs in tampa year around. My Cousin cleaned roofs in naples, and starved in the summer. Maybe roof cleaning in south west florida is seasonal ? Not here in tampa, at least for us. But i have been doing it here a long time. Apple Roof Cleaning is a household word if you want to get your roof cleaned in tampa.
Mike I apologise....I went out and remeasured and it was forty two feet..................sorry I did at 1100 this morning.....Its 42 feet....I will still take it any day
I do too Chris, but are you saying you are equally as busy in the summer as you are in the winter? If so, you must not have any snowbirds there? I've been in business right here for 19 years, so i'm well enough known, but I know it's not like having 1 big city {Tampa} to work out of. My are covers a large area with a load of small towns. The biggest is Port Charlotte and i'm actually 10 - 13 miles from there. I just checked populations- Port Charlotte, Florida 2007 Population: 46,451
Tampa, FL, population 325,989
That's almost exactly 7 times as many potential customers for Tampa, over Port Charlotte. Then my main work area is Englewood and here's it's population-
Estimated population in 2007: 20557.
Just a whole different story in this broken up area, than it is in 1 big city. Plus we are a snowbird area, in that we are on the Gulf.
