Shouldn't require any pressure from what I have read. You don't get any from the rain except the initial hit. That is except in the southeast where the rain comes out of a forest fire fighting aparatus and then stops. Kind of like dumping a bathtub on your head and then it's over.

We have a water tank plumbed to our roof cleaning pump through a 3 way ball valve. IF we rinse (rarely), we can rinse w/ our pump w/ no tips, or a wide fan from a distance.

The best scenario is to not rinse for you and the customer though.

If you have to rinse so be it. If you can avoid it, do.
It is ALSO a treatment and the roof cleaning LASTS LONGER when the "CLEANING AGENT" is LEFT on and ALLOWED TO WORK over TIME

If you need to rinse, use your chem. pump, three way valve and clear water tank. Have a variety of tips or nozzles for different situations. You can deliver a HIGHER volume of water to the roof surface with a VARIETY of pumps, just make sure they are HVLP (high volume, LOW pressure) i.e. rollers,trash pumps, Diaphragm Pumps like electrics, gas powered, air operated, etc.

Just NOT HIGH PRESSURE.

I usually on rinse per a customers' request if that customer is a realtor or a home seller and are going to have a showing in a few days and there's no rain in the forecast.

You have to work with people in these situations, but I don't rinse otherwise.

And remember, if the customer asks for a rinse and you feel like you need to comply,..then charge enough for it. I always explain to the customer during the original meeting how the procedure is done. I say; "I do not rinse them, it's CHEAPER for you to and it's easier for me" and I add "most everyone prefers this simply because they save money" and " It's been really bad for a long time, living with it 99% better until it rains isn't a big deal".

Hope I explained that right.

When you are requested to rinse is there any consideration of adjusting your guarantee? I see some saying 1 year all the way up to 3 years. Since you are washing the chemical off the roof should there be a corresponding reduction of guarantee?

Pat, to answer your question, it totally depends on your temperate region. Around here, we can rinse and have it last for 2-3 years. We choose not to rinse, but we only guarantee our cleanings for 3-4 years at most.

Not rinsing is the way to go. Like everyone else has said, pretty much time is money. So lets make lots of it!

I know that not rinsing is the way to go but some customers will insist. What I was asking is does anyone adjust their waranty to reflect this?

I rinsed all last year. I gave a year warrenty only. I have passed by homes I did as early as April last year and they look great. I will probably rinse very walkable roofs only this year, same warrenty one year

what if it does not rain for 3 months?will the washed roofs tnen need to be revisted and rinsed ?

Ken, the Roofs that you Clean will be just fine whether they are Tile or Shingle. The surfactant in the mix will activate with the rain water and any and all dead algae, mold and pollution will rinse off. I've Cleaned Tile Roofs and it has not rained for 2 weeks during our dry season and they have turned out excellent looking once it rains. No need at all to return. unless of course you just want to admire your work and take a few pictures for your portfolio.

Here is an example of a Tile Roof we Cleaned last year in Seminole Florida which is in Pinellas County Florida. Before Cleaning treatment, after cleaning treatment and after rain rinse almost 2 weeks later...This Tile Roof Washed up just fine.

Thats a Nice job on that tile roof. Will be doing my first barrel tile this week. We've been having a ton of rain in Kissimmee Florida this past 2 weeks, so it should get a nice rinsing a couple of hours after I am done :)

Josh Welcome , it seems every newbie asks all the questions that are answered already including myself when i was a newbie so you need to read everything it takes time but you will gain a wealth of info here ,when done reading ask all the questions you want smile

Ok I read the thread but have a question. If you don't rinse what happens 3 days later when it barely rains and the LOVE comes down on the landscape plants? Anyone ever had problems by not rinsing? Customer ever call back and say plants were killed, etc.?

By that time it has dried and is nothing more than salt and not all of it rinses off the roof at once.
