been on this site most of the day and find it very helpful, been laid off for  a few months and brother has one those high priced power washers so thought i  would do some research and ran across this site , Awsome, I was looking at roof revivier and others  but after reading everthing from here those guys are nothing, Thanks guys i will keep you all informed on what happenes, Was hoping to start with the power washer butttt, i  guess that is out
make it a gret day  all

Trust me Jeff I have been reading now for 4 days, so far i really  dont have any questions for im actually finding all my answers right here on the boards. Reading is one of my biggest hobbies sooooo.. so far so good I just can`t wait to fire up.

HI Kidd,
Don't be afraid to do some powerwashing on other surfaces as a way to generate income for now. As for the roof you can see that it is much easier to clean them without a high pressure method.

Trust me we cleaned roofs the wrong way for 4 yrs. We got the pressure very low and luckily never damaged a roof, but an average 2,000sq. job is all day for 1-2 guys
as opposed to 1-2hrs for one guy doing it the right way. Also you can be way more competative with the proper method as the price point is way lower 15-30cents a square as opposed to the 75-85 cents we had to charge. The price we needed was way to high for at least 60% of our potential customers. The properly priced guy with the proper methods will always be able to blow away the overpriced labor intensive folks

Thanks for that insight Bill , I see now that  they do go hand in hand i will be adding that to the Roof Cleaning..I might not push it as hard but it will be there

You can pressure wash tile roofs-just be careful of the cement that runs up the ridge caps, as it's often cracked up and will fly off in pieces into space!
Also, any small broken tile corners=zooooom!
Really, the most important item not to use a pressure washer on, is a shingled roof.
I cleaned my first shingled roof in 1978 and hundreds and hundreds more until the mid 1990's when I {invented in my own mind smile.gif = Ya, I really thought I invented no pressure roof cleaning! smile.gifsmile.gif } the chemical cleaning system used by most [not all by any means!] roof cleaning people.
PS Revive is just a chem to put on before you pressure clean a roof=nothing special or of any use to a pro.
You will see that not all of us agree 100% on anything, so tally up all you read and then DO IT MY WAY smile.gif Naw, just kiddin' - not really - ya, i'm kiddin' smile.gif
Example: Many feel that you need 2 men on each roof job. The 2nd man walks around with a garden hose, watering the plants, so that the chemicals don't kill them.
I, on the other hand, cover every plant with tied down tarps and on most jobs, use 1 man. I then rinse the roof, remove the tarps and rinse the plants one time.
This is a father and son business and my son has worked with me for 16 years straight.
Figure out what makes sense and profit and put it to use!

I know what you are thinking "WHERE ARE THE TARPS IN YOUR PICTURES?"
At the one house, they are out front, where the only plants are.
On the other house, the plants in that area are 6-7' away from the roof edge, so I just wet them down before and after, in case of a wind caught overspray. smile.gif
