Has anyone had any luck with cleaning government type roofs? I am trying to approach the low Income Housing Director about some much needed roof cleaning. I am trying to put together a packet that explains why they need my services. I just wanted to see if anyone has had any luck with something like this. Housing projects around here are pretty large and I could stay busy for a while with them.

I have had my eye on some of those section 8 housing projects but a few friends that do trees and lawns tell me that they don't want to spend any money or don't have any money.
I am thinking that the property owner would like to extend the life of the roof so their investment lasts a little longer.
Maybe Chris or others will have some good things to say or talk about when dealing with this type of property or who owns them???

I was on base the other day and there were a lot of roofs that need cleaning. I am going to try and see if I can get my foot in the door for this one. Just have to determine who I need to talk to.
The thing with the Government is that these things will have to go out to bid. But who knows it is always worth a shot.
Key word is EDUCATION
With the number of roofs in close proximity to each other you can probably knock the price down to 10-15 per sq foot and still make a good profit. Boy what a feather in your cap that would be.
Hey everyone, I am retired Navy and was a Government contracting officer for the last 10 years I was in. Here is what you need to do.
1. You will need a line card (simple info about your company and services you provide, a good looking brochure will work)
2. Proof of insurance and business licence
3. Look up the base directory phone list on the base website. Contact the contracting officer, Make an appt to see them.
4. If you are a veteran, gather your DD-214's, make copies and put them with your line card (this proves you served our country).
5. The contracting officer must, to the extent practicable, encourage maximum participation by small business, veteran-owned small business, service-disabled veteran-owned small business, HUBZone small business, small disadvantaged business, and women-owned small business concerns in acquisitions.
This is your foot in the door!!!!!
Most important be a pro when you show up for the appt. Don't show up in your work cloths!!! this is your interview with the government.
