We use the same system for clorine for our water treatment plant. Some salt, a battery. water then POOF SH...If you are spending that much I would look into a system.
Shhhh .....don't TELL anybody ..... If they only KNEW, they would be beating this forums doos down to learn Roof Cleaning, LOL Yeah, we do ok, but I LOVE Roof Cleaning Nothing like enjoyig what we do ?
I wonder if there's any way to use one of those swimming pool chlorine generators that are made to treat 40,000 gal. Instead of 40,000 gallons,..say treat 100-500 gallons with the same unit, would that make a strong enough strength to get a roof clean? And I wonder if the chlorine generator would be able to handle super high concentrations of chlorine, and for how long.

I may be wrong, but I think the issue here among others is,.....is chlorine and sodium hypochlorite the same EXACT thing. From what I've found it seems they're not. Maybe I'm wrong though,...I always thought they were the same.
What makes the sodium hypochlorite greenish?
I watched a video of someone's chlorine generator and the end result was clear,...but it did have a chlorine reading from a test kit.

Chlorine is a gas. Sodium hypochlorite is the compound liquid form using chlorine, or salt (sodium chloride), or sodium hydroxide mixed with water and using a process called electrolysis to make bleach.
In Greensboro, NC the water treatment plant switched from using Chlorine gas to liquid sodium hypochlorite because it is much safer. Chlorine gas can kill you.
It would be nice to make your own chemicals but then you would need a shop or office and then the nosy neighbors would be complaining more than they are now. hahaha

I assume thIs idea died. That would be a sweet deal to make your own SH. I'm spending about 2 G's a month on SH and the real season barely started. I'm sure some gOvt agency would shake you down big time for licensing.

I am quite sure of it ED, or worse yet, some jealous local competitor will snitch you off, scared you would get an advantage ?
Our prices on SH have gone up as well, and any way we could save money would be welcome.Â
