This is NOT my discovery. In fact, I tried it nearly 15 years ago, and it did not work very well. However, it was brought to my attention on our other www.roofcleaninginstitute.org forum, by a member in Vancouver BC, who can not buy Gain up there. He said he was using Joy Dishwashing Liquid, with success, so I looked up the MSDS Sheet for ithttp://msds-data.com..._37170_msds.pdf Evidently, Proctor and Gamble, the makers of Liquid Joy, have changed the formulation! It is totally stable with nearly anything, and no warnings for use with chlorine bleach, either! In fact, the scented forms of Joy, like the Lemon Fresh Joy, are also OK for use with Chlorine Bleach!
I started out with Dawn in my mix. Have since gone to other products. I believe had had much less problems with over spray issues on windows with dawn. Maybe the same with Joy

Ensure your tips are very clean Andy. As they age, they get a build of of gunk and corrosion that prevent a nice 'crisp' spray pattern. This may not be the complete solution, but it will help. (I notice it the most on the 'zero' tips.)
