Pressure washing these roofs should be against the law! A smart property manager should know that pressure washing roofs will shorten the life and void any warranty.

I got the same email yesterday Chris and I was wondering the same thing. Those villas roofs look easy enough to do but I'm not big on having to pay some company that I've never heard of for the lead and I'm definitely not comfortable handing over my bank card info. Normally we just get a call directly from the PM or a member of the association.

I never bid on these kinds of roof cleaning jobs. They usually want cheap, and that would not be us.
Plus, like you say Larry, why not just call the PM directly, or go see him ?

They might be tile roofs
I looked the property up Chris. They are all shingle roofs and look easy to clean.

Well, there will probably be everyone and their brother in the Tampa Bay area, bidding on it.
I have seen painters basically do the roofs for nothing, just to secure the paint job. Usually, on tile roofs, these painters will low ball everyone, and put a Mexican on a roof for 12 hours a day, with a pressure washer.
Hi All,
I assure you this is not a scam. We started MinuteBids on the premise that contractors such as you were tired of paying for leads that never resulted in actual business. We work only with commercial and multi-family property managers not consumers. We only collect a fee if the contractor wins the project. We actually don't even collect payment information until after you win your first project.
So far most contractors really like the model.
If I can answer any other questions let me know, I appreciate getting the feedback especially as we expand to new markets and services.

Cory Factor CEO MinuteBids
Well, welcome to the RCIA Cory!
The no pay, unless you win the roof cleaning job seems more then fair.
A far cry from Service Magic, who gave us old roof cleaning leads, and then charged us for them!
LOL, I remember running some of those roof cleaning job leads, and the roof was already cleaned!
We understand we are running the risk of contractors going around us to avoid the fee but feel if the structure is of good value contractors will be happy to pay.
We have a few customers in New Jersey but more are signing up everything week. The nice part is if you registered you will get an email/text when you are matched to a project so there isn't any risk.
Currently in TX most of our activity is in Dallas but again, if you sign up we will notify you when we have something. Interesting comments about the number of bidders. We were surprised that some of the Property Managers are requesting 6 or more bids. We encourage them to keep it to 3 or 4.
Another question for you, as part of our platform we can provide default questions for the PM to ask the service provider. What we are trying to do is let the higher end service providers differentiate themselves based on quality of equipment, certifications etc.. Roof cleaning is a fairly new service for us, any suggestions on qualifying criteria we should be asking of the service providers?
We find that most property managers are willing to pay more than the cheapest price when they understand the difference in service quality and we are trying to help the clarify the difference.
btw, in case you haven't used MinuteBids before, we put you directly in touch with the property manager. We aren't trying to get in between the relationship, just trying to make it more efficient.

Well, this is a Roof Cleaning Training and Certification Forum, and we have several RCIA Certified Roof Cleaning Contractors in several states, across the USA.
The RCIA was the first to offer Roof Cleaning Certification.
