This year we did about $6000 worth of work for realtors. Not alot but it's a start. The first couple of years no calls no matter how much documented material I sent them. They are starting to catch on now when it comes to curb appeal and staging of the homes. That's my approach now. I even started generating blogs towards the real estate market.

There is a "secret" to getting work from Realtors, and I will share it, if there is any interest.

I know the secret! get your real-estate license then you get all the email addresses and mass bulletin! An then with that you are allowed to leave flyers at the main commission office where you have to go to charge your lock box card to enter a property
We've had a huge turnover in the last couple of years when it comes to the realtors/agents/brokers. It used to be one on every corner now we have only the major players. They all have my business cards, postcards and flyers. I even tried to do a free demo and Q & A for the Pocono Mountains Association of Realtors and was shot down. Again, it goes back to turnover in these offices. Never one to give up I'll hit every offcice again in the early spring to meet new personnel and restock literature.

Lee had a great idea! But if you want to get realtors, ask to become a preferred vendor with their offices, with both your insurance and business license on file, as well as a W 9.
Another awesome thing that im allowed to do, is draw a circle on the area of the map that I am interested in , and it prints the TAX address of the homes that I circled (great for 2nd homes at the beach) , also with the names of the current owners and it goes right onto address labels for me!

You can usually offer to buy all the Realtors lunch, and then they have to listen to your little speech!
I get a lot of work from realtors. I have a good friend that is a realtor also. Most realty offices have a monthly meeting and I have made a presentation of our service to many of them locally. They are always looking to bring someone in to speak at these. Just contact the office manager and I am sure they would give you 15 minutes. Just food for thought.
I have contacted 2 realtors from 2 different companies . 4 listed properties from these two agents are very stained and have very poor curb appeal. The first agent was very interested and was going to call me back , still waiting. The second agent was like the first. At this time the 4 properties are still for sale. I approached on of the home They have contracted me to clean their roof as soon as the weather permits , as long as it is still on the market. I did get very good feed back from an independent real-estate appraiser. He did not know that such a service was available and He assumed that these roofs needed to be replaced. First meeting went exceptionally well.
