My brothers helper did take after pics(no before), and I will post them soon. We do not, as a rule, chase commercial roof cleaning jobs. However, after being in the roof cleaning business in the Tampa area nearly 20 years, these jobs often "find us".
Would any of you guys like to come here to Tampa, so I could better train you ? I promise, a week end spent with me would be an eye opening experience.
I could look into renting a Hotel, and try to get you guys a special deal on room rates. Maybe I can even twist Chuck Bergman's arm, and get him to speak.
Plus, I think I can talk Billy Jensen (The guy who discovered Ammonyx) into talking about commercial roof cleaning, and show everyone his monster roof cleaning setup.
Billy cleans, and has cleaned, more big commercial roof cleaning jobs then anyone you are likely to meet.
I would also like to ask Bruce Sullivan if he wants to come down to Tampa, and put on a Cedar Roof Cleaning Class.
This is the second one of these 5 convalescent homes we have done. I have one of my crews on this job today 10-2-2013
This place has a red barrel tile roof, and has not been cleaned in many many years! It is approx 18,000 sq ft, and a single story. This is an ideal situation for our big air pumps, and monster compressors, because I sold this job PROPERLY.
On the first one, we told them it would be either 3,600 dollars, or 2.300 dollars.
The water spickets are few, and far between on these buildings, and they are hundreds of feet apart. This means that watering the grass/plants would be a real PITA.
The "grass" is mostly a mixture of weeds and grass, so here is what we told them. We would clean the roofs for 2,300 if we were allowed to simply let the chemical fall where it may!
I know this sounds "awful", but hear me out.
All that will happen is this, a narrow strip of grass/weeds will turn yellow/brown and die, but in a few months, maybe even less, the weeds will grow right back, due to the sandy soil here in Tampa Florida.
It is actually better when watering grass, to not water the run off, unless you plan on watering real good! All you do with a 1/2 ass watering of run off on the grass is "spread the death".
Free of having to "watch the run off", we can turn our monster sized roof cleaning setup loose, by using huge nozzles that a lesser pump set up would not be able to handle.
The monster sized air compressors we use, no restrictive hose reels, and big 5/8 diameter hose have few equals, when it comes to taking down a tile roof cleaning job, of this magnitude.
OH, my brother just called, he started this job at 8.30 am, and is DONE already! 2,300 dollars in 1/2 a day, now that's what I am taking about
They did have a Butterfly Garden, and of course, we protected it
This Florida Convalescent Home Company has 3 more identical buildings for us left to do, this was the second one of 5.
My Son will pull in 1200.00 today, so we will gross 3500.00 today, and maybe more ? My brothers and his helper are on their way back to the office, and asked for a couple more roofs to do!
Plus, I have already written over 1200.00 in NEW business today, like we "need it" LOL
I have zero plans of having any "roundtables", but I do dream of having a "roof cleaning weekend" for anyone interested one day, here in Tampa.
I would just Love to get a bunch of you guys all together in a room, for the roof cleaning question and answer session from Hell!
Plus, if I could line up a few HUGE tile and shingle roof cleaning jobs, for actual hands on training, by my guys and Me!
Sometimes, I feel so "handicapped" as far as the RCIA goes, for I haven't the time to give this place the time I would like to!
Chris , Sign me up I cant wait if you need my help in any way I am there for you, I would love that so much, to meet some of these people who helped me, and to learn first hand from the real pros, etc etc Dabber
Thanks my friend! My Brother and his helper came back in early, and cleaned a few more shingle roofs besides the convalescent home. It was an awesome day!
Chris, please count me in on coming to Tampa. I am a newbie and my eyes are getting sore from reading, reading and reading. I have been searching the web, u tube and this forum for all the info I can get. I have been down streaming for many years and I now see the light.

Well, welcome to the Roof Cleaning Institute DAS !
It would be wise for you to fill out your forum signature, especially if you have a website!
Well, I would have to see what regular roundtables and events are already scheduled, before I did anything. I sure as heck don't want to do anything to interfere with the hard work some people who put on these events have already done.
Chris, I know the event in San Diego is wrapping up this week. The only other event I know of right now is in Houston Texas in February. If you need help getting things together just ask. Nice job BTW landing that roof cleaning job. Love those big ones.

Thanks Larry!
I think Ron has something planned for Tampa, so we would just do that one.
