I'm trying to see if there is anything I can do as an upsell for roof cleaning. Maybe offering a warranty or something. I have only been doing roof cleaning for a year, and I don't know how long the cleaning usually lasts though. Is there anything I can do to make it stay clean longer? Maybe some kind of fungicide? I was thinking about a 3 year warranty as an upsell, but don't know if that would come back to bite me. I know the Soft Wash Systems guys offer 5 years, but I don't know how they manage that. Any other suggestions for upsells?

My font style on my prorated roof cleaning warranty is "Times New Roman" size 10. I have nothing to hide from my roof cleaning customers.
That is why I explain how my owner transferable prorated 5 year warranty works to my roof cleaning customers as I discuss the pricing and what they need to do to prepare for our arrival.
So far I have a 90% closing ratio on the spot from roof cleaning customers whom I meet face to face. The other 10% of my roof cleaning customers shop for a better price. Some roof cleaning customers go for cheaper prices and lower roof cleaning quality. Most roof cleaning customers can see that our roof cleaning company is more qualified than my low bid roof cleaning competitors. The majority of my roof cleaning customers who are on the fence as who to perform the roof cleaning services on their roof end up having our company clean their roof.
Thanks for the comments in regard to me guys. Yes I am a scumbag or fraud in some roof cleaners eyes who offers a 2 year unconditional warranty followed by a 3 year prorated warranty just like Chris stated. BUT. It is clearly written on the back of the quote/invoice that I give each customer. At the time of each quote I also verbally inform each customer of my warranty and explain how it works. Now if that is a deceptive trade practice to some of my fellow roof cleaners then tough it.
I do not take offense from fellow roof cleaning members that consider that fraud or call me a scumbag. Many members shoot of their mouths here all the time without knowing all of the facts. That seams to be the way of life here these days days. When I hired AC years ago he taught me a secret recipe that I signed a release form stating that I would not share it to anyone else. Seven years after I started using this formula and I have never had a call back. Most of my competitors offer maintenance packages after 2 years. My angle for a sales pitch on this is different from my competitors and my customers seem to like it. As a result I have been so busy that I still have not finished my new roof cleaning trailer that I started a year ago, let alone having time to post here anymore. From the posts that I have seen here lately compared to 3 years ago are not as friendly and in some cases hateful... That is not what I want my customers to ever see. Loose lips sink ships and this ship is sinking in my opinion!
I like you Marcus, always have. No need to add a hole, although I understand what your saying. I have always tried to avoid the small print. tell it like it is. Its easy to understand and engenders trust.
When we started out we offered a 2 year warranty, then we went to 5 year pro-rated, next year moving back to 2 year, no pro-rated small print, just doing it not to have to explain the details, less talk is better for us. Warranty is a non issue in our selling, either they want brand x for low ball money or maybe they want roof shampoo and or roof restore with a roof rake pressure device on their shingles or they are willing to pay a fair price of .30 cents a square by a company that has W/C and 2m in liability insurance with 2 employees for safety, property protection, and expedience.
I don't care if someone offers a 10 year warranty, we sell what we offer, we don't over commit and we try to over deliver.
unforunatly yes. I wont know till 5 years from now, if this was a good thing or not. I have to do this.
Don't "worry" about it Brother, just do like they do here in Florida, and offer 5 to 10 year roof cleaning warranties, then go out of business, when all the warranties are needed by the customers
I can not say how long roofs will stay clean up north, but here in Tampa Florida, some tile roofs will be dirty again in a year, and some shingles in 18 months!
Worse, if they are under trees, or on a body of fresh water!

Good Post! Customers really hate it, when they think they have a 5 year warranty, then find out it is "pro rated", especially if pro rated off a phony price!
We have a no matter what, no questions asked, no charges, 1 year roof cleaning warranty. If a roof gets dirty again in a year, we re clean it for free, end of story.
