I am trying to organise regular suppliers of my chemicals and i was talking to the SH guy and i explained what i was doing. He suggested benzyl alkyl ammonium chloride instead of SH . He says he sells big quantities of this chemical to House builders for getting rid of moss and algae. He has said that it is better than SH for that purpose and its much kinder on the plants /grass than SH. As i have no experience in the softwash field i was hoping others can shed some light on this product. It is compatable with ammonyx lo.
Thanks

Never used or heard of it before. I looked it up and one of it's applications is to clean algae, moss and lichen. Not sure of the cost and/or ratios and it would be interesting to see if it is an effective alternative to SH. For now I'll stick with ARMS's recommendation to clean roof shingles. But here is some info below to get you started on looking up some more info.
Applications:
The applications of Benzalkonium Chloride are extremely wide ranging,[3] from disinfectant formulations, such as being an active ingredient in Dettol and Lysol brand products, to microbial corrosioninhibition in the oilfield sector, and a multi-surface mould, algae and moss remover.[4] It is used in:
Skin antiseptics Bactine to protect scrapes and cuts
Pharmaceuticals such as throat lozenges[5] & various leave-on skin antiseptics
Chris, have you heard of this before? What are your thoughts on it?
OK, it is the same Chit in Lysol, it is no where near as good of a cleaning chemical as what we all use, but it is good for spray and let the rain clean it kind of stuff, but it can be nasty Chit, and blind you!
It is what is in spray and forget, wet and forget, etc, etc.
I wonder if it is preferred over SH for indoor application. I'm doing some mold remediation in a relatives basement and the love is kicking butt but its also stinking up the whole house.
