This is NOT my discovery. In fact, I tried it nearly 15 years ago, and it did not work very well. However, it was brought to my attention on our other www.roofcleaninginstitute.org forum, by a member in Vancouver BC, who can not buy Gain up there.

He said he was using Joy Dishwashing Liquid, with success, so I looked up the MSDS Sheet for it http://msds-data.com/MSDS/PG/Joy_Liquid_Dish_37170_msds.pdf

Evidently, Proctor and Gamble, the makers of Liquid Joy, have changed the formulation!

It is totally stable with nearly anything, and no warnings for use with chlorine bleach, either!

In fact, the scented forms of Joy, like the Lemon Fresh Joy, are also OK for use with Chlorine Bleach!

This has been covered before, and this is a "cover your ass" type of warning from Proctor and Gamble, who make Gain.

They are concerned that in an inside situation, in a sink filled with bleach water, Mama might breathe some fumes doing dishes.

Thousands of roof cleaners, including us,  use Gain outside with no problems.

You may want to try Liquid Joy Dishsoap, or even Lemon Fresh Joy, to mix with the Roof Snot biggrin

It MAY work even better, here is why. Gain contains Ammonyx LO, same as Roof Snot. Joy is different, and contains different surfactants, no Ammonyx.

These different surfactants MAY combine with Roof Snot better, and make a thinker final  product!

The MSDS says nothing about avoiding anything!

Gain says to avoid bleach in the MSDS, but not Joy's MSDS

I tried Joy years ago in bleach, but it fumed! The old MSDS said to avoid bleach!

But the new one says it is OK for everything, and the guy in Canada has been using it w/o problems.

Go Figure ?

Hey, how much of the stuff u sent me to mix with what gallons amount ?

One of the reasons they say don't add bleach is they mix ammonia into there soap. Maybe they took the ammonia out.

I put 56 oz. of the Max to 40, or about 1/3 of a bottle. I mix on the job and use it up with in the hour. There is some alcohol in it.
