Hey to everyone on the fourm , I made this wand so I can spray back up at the lips of tile roofs, without going to the edge, I know its no big deal , but it sure helps me feel better, us old guys should not go to the edge, Thanks Steve (Dabber)
When you are cleaning the edge of a tile roof, if there was a minor loss of flow it would not matter. The limiting point on flow would be the nozzle. If anything it would loss of pressure, but not much enough to matter.
Andy No not at all it is the same pressure and flow , its 1/2 in PVC , its nice I dont have to go to the edge of the roof, I can get it from 4-5 tiles up and the ground man, keeps a close eye to see if everything is hit Thanks Steve (Dabber)
Marcus Exactly it may loose a little pressure but I dont even feel it, I need to find a good young spray man, then I will be the ground man Thanks Marcus
Tom You are right old guys make great groundsmen, now all I have to do is find a young spray man , then this old guy will be the ground man, you would think it would be easy with all the unemployment, but its not
Marcus you are right I dont mind spraying roofs to much except for the barroll tile roofs we have alot of here in se fl , its hard for me to walk on these roofs , and also with the air diaphram pump I find myself not being able to move fast enough , and be safe at the same time , love spraying shingle roofs and flat tile roofs though Thanks Steve (Dabber)
You are right Marcus and I hope I didn't mislead Steve ... just a poor attempt at humor on my part. As a ground guy myself I can attest to the work and responsibility involved with this position when done properly. My son Mike ( former Golden Gloves boxer ) and myself ( roofer, ex college wrestler ) are in pretty good shape and work together well as a team.Mike sprays and I control everything below the roofline. When customers inevitably ask the question regarding harm to their plants or animals, I like being able to tell them as the ground guy, the safety of their plants, animals and property is my #1 job and concern.

With an air pump, you can put even a super small mist type nozzle on it, when cleaning tile roofs. Do not be scared to go down in nozzle size, to reduce run off.
I think the easiest job is spraying the roof. The ground guy has a lot of work to do. When you are not even on the truck anymore that job really sucks.

I made similar pvc wands to do the edges, years ago. Now, We just do the edge from the ground-one guy cleans, one comes behind with a garden hose. Or if a lone-i hose in each hand. When I used the "thingamajigs" I would misss here and there.

I find it easier on the roof than being on the ground. Plus on the roof I get to yell at the ground guy for not reading my mind and being where I need him...LOL
