We no longer offer cedar shake restorations (three-stepping, with or without stain/sealer), and I can't seem to find any other companies in the area that offer it. This means that we have no place to send potential clients that keep calling us for those services.
I checked via the forum a while back, yet thought I'd check again. Anyone in the Northern VA area or willing to drive to the Northern VA area offering proper, cedar shake cleaning/restorations? Perhaps some of the Richmond based companies?
It's a number of things. Most middle class folks flip out to a 5-6k quote on a 40k cedar shake roof. As a result the closing ratio is fairly low. The liabilities are high both in personal safety and the use of moderate pressure on a roof. Good quality stain/sealer puts the price point out of reach for many potential clients.
Meanwhile we have more mainstream asphalt business than we can handle, so we've bowed out of cedar.
We've passed on two relatively big cedar jobs recently; I'd prefer to refer our clients so a company that DOES offer the service. If only I could find one.
If it's so hard to find somebody I would think you can start charging some crazy pricing. I'll do it Ted. I'm coming in at $22,700. Plus the cost of the lift. When can we start?
Have a cedar lead on a 2 million dollar home in Bethesda. Check your PM Mike, since I can't find a email address for you. If you can't / won't follow up on this, then give it back to me please. This lead is for you and only you.
