Has anyone noticed the increase in window cleaners coming into the roof cleaning business lately ?
This is no "accident", they are being actively solicited by some vendors, who are telling them "there is a fortune to be made cleaning roofs"!
We have had 2 of them "Pop Up" in our area who are now cleaning roofs, and advertising "Free Window Cleaning" with roof cleaning.
Perhaps us roof cleaners should "return the favor", and start cleaning windows ?
I have always avoided window cleaning, because it is low ticket, at least here in Tampa.
We sold our first window cleaning job, then bought the equipment. The evidence had become irrefutable on the success of the waterfed pole. We added windows for $250 and it took a little better than an hour. I bought the base model set up for like $600. I would love to tap into window cleaning more. Some people want their rims polished on their Mercedes and are willing to pay.
Chris While on line researching my on website status, I found a window cleaning company that popped up. There in the lakes region and not on my area, but competition is coming to NH and like anything else let's just hope some of these start up don't low ball.

I haer it is pretty easy to clean windows, especially with water fed poles ?
Talking about the water fed pole, hwo are you guys cleaning the sill on the second floor windows? We offer window cleaning with our house washes but we do it with a squeegee and then we wipe the frames and window sills too. Is the sills being cleaned when using a the WFP?
Here is an example of what I mean by window cleaners coming into our business, and whoring it up.

There is no doubt that water fed poles are a very easy add-on for your business - as long as you have good technique and a quality pole, there is no reason for you to not earn the magic $100 per hour in most regions. With the right technique, you can estimate at less than a minute per window.
To learn the right technique, we developed a free online training program. We developed this program for ISS in Australia to train their janitorial staff to use water fed poles.
The videos are hosted on YouTube and we have had over 68,000 views in just over a year since we released it to the public.
You can find the free training at www.waterfedpoletraining.com
It is 23 videos lasting just one hour in total.
The great thing is that we also have an Online Exam with a 100% to PASS requirement - and there is a Water Fed Pole Work and Safety Certificate downloadable for those that pass.
You can use this to train your staff.

Have you ever been fishing on a dock or a Pier, when some idiot with an overly big sinker casts his line out, and scares the fish ?
But wait, it gets better! Not knowing how to cast, the idiot causes his bait to fly off the hook. So, guess what ? The idiot reels in his line, rebaits the hook, then does it again!
After this idiot has ruined the fishing for everyone (and himself), he leaves.
This is what happens with 59.00 pressure washing!
No way can anyone make a living cleaning for that price.
He must depend on "upselling", and I think that is a crock of chit!
His strategy may be to low ball to get the job, then he tries to upsell.
But, upselling does not always work!
Many customers will not be upsold, and will insist on the 59.00 job.
Unfortunately, all potential customers of ours will remember is, they can get their homes pressure washed for 59.00 !
So, not only does he mess it up for himself, but for others as well!
just had a guy in my neighborhood thats from Pats backyard that does windows, gutters and now roof cleaning. says will do any gitters from $50-to $150 "max"!
I wouldnt get out of bed and shower for that price just to drive an hour and half to clean a gutter least a roof! A 3 hr round trip for $50? WTF and this is the most costliest place to live. I wouldnt even do this if I lived in FL!
Yes window cleaners are coming in to the field of roof cleaning lately, i think it may have more scope than window cleaning. But window cleaning also have scope.

Of course, not ALL Window Cleaners are low ball price cutters. Here in Tampa, I have seen , with no disrespect intended, Puerto Ricans out cleaning roofs door to door for 100.00, using plastic 55 gallon garbage cans filled with roof cleaning chemicals, Dollar Store 5/8 Garden Hose, and 69.00 12 volt Northern Tool Pumps!
