We are using Ford F-150's equipped with our Certified Soft-Wash System. The truck allows for easy maneuverability while the system holds enough product to clean and treat 6 average size roofs.
At the present I am using a flat bed 12' tailer. The trailer I am in the process of building is a 14' trailer. I am using this because I can not fit all of my power & pressure washing, and roof cleaning equipment, water tanks, and cleaning solutions in a truck bed and I have not had time nor money to afford my dream which is a flat bed truck like Greg Nash's.
I use a F250 utility bed. I'm always looking to upgrade but I have come to appreciate the convenience of not hauling a trailer and I love the utility bed for organization. It would be nice to have a little extra room now and then but it's a decent set up.
I use an extended version FORD CARGO VAN. I have my 12volt fatboys set up. I have my conpressor and all-flow set-up and I also have my PW and hose reel for soft-washing siding. It is tight on room but it works and cargo vans are cheap. I went with cargo van for a few reasons.
1. They are cheap and there are tons of them in NH
2. They keep equipment out of the weather
3. It is easy to letter them(Billboard)
4. No D.O.T or stopping at weight stations
5. Easy to get in tight driveways
6. Every thing is at waist height and if possitioned properly located at either side door or rear doors.

We have an 99' long bed 2wd extended cab F150. Its not a bad truck. We beefed up the springs. She carries 250 gallons of fluid plus ladders, machines, etc. She can hold it as good, or better, than any f250. But she still has F150 brakes. She doesn't stop well with weight.
My next truck will be a single cab F350. You can find the used Home Depot flatbeds for sale on most car lots with roughly 50k miles for roughly $13k.
You can throw a skid on the flat bed plus still have roof for other stuff.

We ONLY use dually's like F 350's. I like the safety margin you get having 2 rear wheels, not to mention the better brakes, springs, and overall tougher construction of a 1 ton truck.
Theres a 7000lb weight limit on the Garden State Parkway. They technically will not hassle personal vehicles over 7000, like an Excursion. But a commercial dually will get you all day long with the State cops. If you can't navigate this highway, you have lost the battle for the coast line of NJ. I would love to go with the dually.
We have 2 tanks on our Soft Wash set up, a 50 and 100 gallon. We carry 100 gallons of straight SH in one tank and mix the jobs as needed. That way it is a lot lighter running around town. When we get to the job we start a mix while we set up to spray.

I love my box truck! I have plenty of room for everything I need. I have 2 power washers, 2 125 gallon tanks, a 55 gal, drum for SH storage, 4 hose reels, 16" and 32" ladder, my all flow pump, and back up 12 V system(3 5850's), 2 surface cleaners air compressor, my window cleaning stuff, and a microwave! I like that I am driving a rolling billboard and love that everything can be locked up securely at the end of the day. PA isn't as tough as NJ or other places so, the box truck works great for me, even in tight spaces.....I must have been big rig truck driver in another life cause I can turn my 17footer on a Dime! LOL
Serving the Pocono and Lehigh Valley(Carbon, Lehigh, Northampton, Monroe, Pike and Wayne Counties), PA community as well as both Warren and Sussex Counties of New Jersey
Eric failed to mention that he has central air being installed along with surround sound for the west wing of the box truck.
Hank
nice one Hank.....A&E.....A&E..... thats all we hear or see...and if i see one more video of that box truck....lol Eric just poking fun at ya.......oh no forgot Eric is big wig Moderator and big man on campus now.......lets try this...Wow Eric nice box truck.
That is an advantage of living up North. In Texas during the Summer the heat in a box truck would turn the SH back to salt water.
I ran a box truck for years here in Tampa, but we took the whole back door off of it! The SH Fumes inside the truck were choking us, we had a 600 gallon tank in it.
It was a bitch to work out of, vs a flatbed, but got plenty of attention and work, a rolling billboard!!!!!

I only have 55 gal of SH plus my solution tank so, its not too bad. I did install a small exhaust fan in the ceiling seems to help a little.

For someone new to the roof cleaning business, I highly suggest a box truck. Just driving it around, or parking it in busy places, will get you work!
When we had one, people would always say "I see your trucks all over the place" LOL LOL LOL
